however if it's done via Vag tools and presumably license is paid then it fine. You will fine in Turkey there are cars being enabled for navigation that arrived for whatever reason.

Only if the local importer of VAG cars cared about selling official navigation licenses. Maybe in some other countries but not in Turkey.

I think there are license issues why you don't get it in some parts or the local government won't accept "foreign" maps controlling cartography. The maps are available in some instances for the country but in mib format but not made available. Middle East is one. Turkey there might be border disputes. Korea foreign mapping services aren't allowed in for security. Japan is similar. Other countries they jam navigation. I've had that in Jordan you are going down a road to a destination and you loose position. Driving dark. You have to turn round till it locks back on and return back the way you came. Syria in that instances. They had blocked out anything near the border.

@Ammar2jz your friends car the PDF if it's the latest one:

You are looking for Navigation Discovery Pro on the spec

1744754539049.png

It is optional on the Comfortline and installed on the R-Line.

The VW Terramont is built on the MQB platform. It really dependents on the model. Prior to 2020 it will be Mib2. Mib3 on but may be old stock hanging about. R-Line is the luxury so you never know if you put the USB in it may take it. Otherwise, you are looking for a retrofitter if Mib3.

You could feed in the same details as you did to Mib helper to see whether it pins it down to mib2 or mib3. USB-C it's mib3... so you don't have to do what I said. If mib3 just try it with the USB drive. It won't hurt it.

H67 is an interesting code. Have you tried the usb-c. ?.

The car could be one of those without navigation on the pdf. You could ask the dealer for a print out of the build codes. See what that says about navigation. Whether it's mentioned. If it's usb-c and the working usb doesn't take it then it's probably a job for a retrofitter.

I have never seen a case where it is as easy as inserting a usb stick with maps on it. Even if the hardware supports it, I don't think that the navigation FeCs are enabled.

Probably true but worth a go. Dealers will give the build codes then take it from there with a retrofitter if the guy really wants it. Retrofitter will also look up the car, if they can't do that then they are unlikely to be able to do the work. This is just like early days of mib2 high in the UK. You got to find a decent retrofitter like the boards sponsor. They will want to see that picture as well. All would not appear to be lost from the 5H6035832F device part but may not be activated for navigation.

If you happen to live in one of those areas that's your update. These files can be used across Seat, Cupra, Škoda and VW. Because it says Škoda link doesn't mean it only works on Skoda's.

BTW I've decided with this thread I'll do it like the Mib2 navigation thread and put the latest release at the end so previous releases can be seen. Suspect it won't be long till the missing regions get filled in.

Hi Tell

Downloaded the latest Skoda file as per your post. Unzipped it and it showed a "headers error". Downloaded it again and on unzipping showed the same error. Do you think it's safe to try to upload it on to the car? Or is it worth waiting for the VW release to see how that performs?
TIA>

Dear Seat/Cupra Community,

I’m reaching out for assistance with enabling two advanced features on my 2023 SEAT Arona equipped with the MIB3 IO infotainment unit (LG WG8), bought in europ and exported to North Africa (Algeria):

  1. Wireless Android Auto connection
  2. GPS map update / adding additional countries to the navigation system

🔧 Vehicle & System Information

  • Vehicle: SEAT Arona
  • Production Date: September 2023
  • VIN: VSSZZZKJ4PR12****

🧠 MIB3 Unit Info

  • System Type: MIB3 IO (LG WG8)
  • MAC Address (Ethernet): F8:38:69:C1:4C:AA
  • Release version: Detected: MOI3_EU_SE_R8370L
  • FEC/SWaP status: Not unlocked (partial access via OBDeleven)

✅ What I’ve Done So Far

✅ Android Auto / Wi-Fi:

  • Enabled developer mode via OBDeleven Ultimate
  • Accessed Green Engineering Menu
  • Activated Wi-Fi Client mode
  • MIB3 connects to Wi-Fi networks successfully
  • Phone (Android 13, Wireless AA compatible) works via USB cable
  • Initial USB connection to Android Auto completed successfully

❌ Issue:

  • Wireless Android Auto does not auto-launch
  • No detection from the phone once unplugged
  • No prompt from the head unit
  • MIB3 remains silent despite confirmed Wi-Fi link

✅ GPS / Navigation Maps:

  • Downloaded official SEAT NaviSystem map package for MIB3 for north africa
  • Formatted USB stick to FAT32 / ExFAT, added correct map update files
  • Inserted into vehicle's USB port

❌ Issue:

  • No automatic map update is triggered
  • No message or detection of the update by the infotainment unit
  • Navigation stays locked to current countries/regions

🧰 Tools & Hardware

  • ODIS Engineering v18.3.0 (patched)
    • Tried projects: SE27x, MOI3_EU_SE_R8410L, MHI3_ER_AU_P3853
    • Partial/incomplete loading or no recognition of the unit
  • OBDeleven Ultimate
    • Developer mode and testmode activated
    • No access to FEC/SWaP via standard menus
  • USB-C to RJ45 Adapter (generic Chinese hub)
    • Allows Wi-Fi client but no Ethernet ping reply
    • PC IP manually set to 192.168.1.100
    • Target MIB3 IP assumed: 192.168.1.101 → no response (Destination host unreachable)

❓ Help Requested

  1. How can I fully enable Wireless Android Auto on MIB3 IO (LG WG8)?
  2. Is there a way to manually unlock or inject FEC/SWaP codes for wireless features?
  3. Could someone provide or confirm the correct ODIS Engineering project for MOI3_EU_SE_R8410L or equivalent?
  4. How can I force the MIB3 to accept and install map updates, or expand the countries available in navigation?
  5. Is it possible to trigger map update via FTP, Green Menu, or Engineering mode if USB update fails?

Thank you in advance for your time and support. I’m happy to provide logs, screenshots, or perform additional tests if needed.

Kind regards,
Machisa

Well I've given the link to MartiniB the Briskoda expert so I'm waiting for a puff of smoke to say it works given I haven't got mib3. One important think is to use 7zip on these files and the old one of if you are using a MAC use CleanMydrive to remove Mac garbage.

If it's saying header error when unzipping it, dont try to load it into the car. 7zip is the unzipping program recommended. Has been a couple of cases of the need to update the program as well if you have a old copy. Skoda have the ability to mess up the zip process using their own proprietary programmes.

Yesterday when I inspected that file I used the built in Windows 11 unzip program. It didn't complain. You could ignore what I said about using 7zip and open the file with a right click. I've just done a drag and drop with 7zip and no complaints about the header.

The 7-zip I'm using is 24.01 (x64). I see it's not listed on the 7-zip download site... a more recent one:

The other issue is a pesky Mac ?

We have been round this circle before. You have to find yourself a local retrofitter with the Vag tools and license to adjust. It's all heavily controlled now with encryption to enter these unit to make FeC changes. Mib3 thing.

In Africa, Middle East and Turkey these cars come with the hardware but the navigation turned off. People with Vag tools can do this since a license is paid and Vag get their income. One of boards sponsors can do this but you are in Africa and they are in East Yorkshire @East Yorkshire Retrofits . I seem to recall a mention of some gizmo connected up to the unit to allow it over the Internet but it isn't free.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I used 7Zip on a Windoze laptop, as I usually do for these updates. I don't use my Mac to do this (but use it for everything else!).

I'll give it a whirl with the built-in Windoze program (although I'm on Windoze 10 still).

Cheers

Well I never!
Uninstalled 7-Zip and reinstalled latest version. Downloaded nav file again and still no luck.
Tried it on a friend's Windoze 10 PC with same result!
Thought I'd give it a go on my Mac so downloaded the relevant programs and lo and behold it worked perfectly.
So looks like the pesky Windoze laptop can be confined to the bin as I don't use it for anything else.
Anyway, thanks for your help and assistance.
