Cupra Formentor VZ2 Hybrid - 2023..

I had the SOS module replaced a couple of years ago... which googling seemed to pertain to... download size is about 140MB... so a sizable chunk... please don't mess things up for me!!!

Well yesterday I received it. It was a pain after that. All user details lost needed to log back again. Trying to recall the password etc. Not sure what it fixes. I didn't want that anyway. I need a car and not a smart phone which just keeps updating every now and then. Time waste.

I've just received it and after logging in it now wants my S-PIN... Not a clue what it is and I don't remember ever setting one. So at the moment limited access as no radio or maps!!!

Just did mine last night and yes it does throw you out of your user record on the car. Fortunately putting it back on was much less stress than last time as they seemed to have made this much less of a problem (it was hideous last time) BUT as you say it asks for an S pin which I took a good guess at and told it not to ask again. You can reset this from the app if you have no idea of it I think.
The major plus though was that after 2 years of trying to get the dealer to fix it , the infuriating "changing vehicle setting" on EVERY drive seems to have been fixed so fingers crossed going forward.
Does any one have the details of what this update is meant to fix?

Yeah updated this morning and have had to sign back in but seems to have lost all speech commands. I don't see the usual WiFi connection top right of the screen where notifications would usually show so speech to text is no longer working. Anyone else with the same problem or idea what I need to check?

Yeah, I got it yesterday on my Leon. And it was a nightmare for me too. I eventually managed to “sign back in” as the Primary user, but now it won’t let me add a “secondary user” (my OH also drives my car) like I had set up before. Infuriating!

I tried using the website as well as the app, but no good. I even deleted the account of the secondary user, and tried to register with a different email, but it just won’t let me add a secondary user profile now! Gnnnnhhhh !!!

I think the firmware update has something to do with the internal SIM card and the recent switch off of the 3G cellular signals in the UK

You might need to change privacy back to "share my position" if it doesn't show as online

The update deleted my user profile, and now completely unable to log in. Tells me either the username or password is incorrect ( it isn't ) or that it is unable to load my profile. I've had no problems with it apart from the extremely rare vehicle settings message since I got the car over three years ago. Screwed now and it will be at the end of it's lease in 5 months so I may not even bother to try and fix it. It begs the question do they bother to test these firmware updates properly before pushing them out?

Is the globe on the infotainment white (is the car online)? It is quite often that after the OCU update problems occur.
Try to remove the infotainment connectivity fuse for a couple of minutes, I've read this solved such problems for other users.

I did the reset by holding the power button for 30s, I also did a factory reset from the menu. I've deleted and re-installed the app tonight, I'll try your ideas tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions.

So, this morning I tried again. Nada...
Nothing to lose so I disconnected the battery, and took the opportunity to give the battery an external charge for an hour, I have a dashcam that is constantly running and I don't use the car every day so a charge now and then is useful, however apart from getting every warning light going I still was not able to log in to the car. Took the car for a quick spin, that fixed all the warnings, bit still not able to log in. FFS!

Finally, I reset the password on the CupraID website, this is the password I've been using since 2022, and the same one as I use for the APP.

Yay!! Straight in and I now have a user again.

This sounds very much a Cupra/VW backend issue, so if all else fails, try changing the password.

As somebody whose programmed and flashed custom firmware to other vehicles without an issue, this OTA update experience is horrid.

Changed password
Forced Reboot
Factory Reset
Deleted Car from Cupra account
Having to replace a key fob battery
Still...

Sorry, unable to load your settings

The most frustrating thing is just not being able to fix it myself!

The consistent need to tell it not be in privacy mode, babysitting the app, checking good communication.

I think they've pushed this OUN8 update out without much care. There's clearly an abundance of account related / database issues with whatever they just did to migrate off the old network. Disappointing.
