I always thought my car was also doing a regen also at 750 revs. If you put your foot down, can you get the car to pass 4K revs? Also, when you boot it for a few minutes then stop it feels like a regen, right?

Yes, my car will go above 4k revs - tried in 2nd gear tonight when it was doing its thing. Sod all torque though on anything below 2.5k revs, slight incline, hit it at 50 in 5th, had to drop down into 4th but was still losing speed, so eventually had to hit 3rd!

Hmm, I managed to get my power back with a fuel filter change but I am still having the coil light prob and attempting regens even after a motorway run. I expect the DPF to be clean.
I am in contact with Seat over this issue and they will be getting back to me tomorrow. I also have a mechanic friend of mine on the case. I'll let you know once I have more info!!

Hello Dev, no explanation as yet. I have a few issues which Seat are looking into for me but no answers as yet. Will let you know though.

Dev, been thinking about the grumbling from the exhaust as indicated on your video.
It's been mentioned that the grumbling has been evident after a good run and that the revs do not exceed 750 RPM.
When you recorded that video had you been out on a good drive? By that I mean had you put your foot down a little?
I have been keeping an eye on mine for a little while now trying to work out if it is a regen or not, which I had this evevning. I have noticed that the regen does push the the revs up to 1K RPM and the shaking is not as violent.
When I have put my foot down a little the shaking is much more violent but the revs do not exceed 750 RPM.
I will keep an eye on it but while I don't have an answer as yet, I am beginning to rule out a DPF issue.

No it doesn't do it with any kind of driving in particular. It happened tonight in fact, noticed as I pulled up in traffic on the motorway sliproad, just done a 20 mile trip at 65/6th gear (cruise control). Only seems to happen when engine is warm though.
Someone mentioned the turbo but surely it would only have problems when the turbo is being used (ie, when moving)?
Next time it is doing it I will plug it into vagcom - I think there are some bits set on a controller when the car is doing a regen.

Dev, spoke to seat about it today and while they couldn't give me an answer with regard to potential problem, but they did confirm a regen pushes the revs up to 1K RPM and the rumble/vibrating should be very light. Hardly noticeable in fact. They don't think this a regen from what I described and said that I should have my car checked out!!

Would sticking turbo vanes affect it at standstill though?
Yes, I did think about1st stage, but never managed to get a definitive answer as to exactly what level causes this and at what level it ticks over to 2nd stage. At the end of the day I'm doing 600 or so miles a week, mostly motorway, so there's no way the DPF should be getting sooted up. Plus I've done a manual regen once or twice in the past. Have seen the DPF light on once in the last 50k miles, and that was only as a result of sitting in a traffic jam for an hour.

thats wot they thought mine was turbo off last fri and cleaned and lubed they got a cleaning kit frm sum wer hasnt done it so far am clinging on to wood in the hope it doesnt they thought it was egr but evry 1 sed it would chuck up a fault code but it didnt it was scaned on the garage wer i got it frms computer seats computer and vw's computer and no codes
Last night the car was doing this again, looked in the rear view mirror and the car was kicking out loads of white smoke when at standstill in traffic! Blipped the throttle and it cleared it. 5 mins later it did the same, driving like a dog etc and another smoke instance. Also coudl smell the fumes in the car (although that may have just been because I was sat at the traffic lights).Then 10 mins later or so, everythign absolutely fine, never know there had been a problem with the car.
This was about an hour into a journey, all of which had been spend on the motorway at 65/70 so I can't see how the DPF could have been sooted up. Drove on for another hour and everthing fine, all fine this morning too.

Nope sorry mate, I found the DPF just started getting full far quicker though.
Did a manual regen down to 5% on a Monday, by Wednesday it was regenning again!! That's with plenty of motorway driving too.
Got rid of the car though now, I would probably have kept it another 6 months had it not been for these issues!
