If you're looking for a cheap mod, some of the lads over on Audi-Sport fit A4 B5 front coil spring cups to their B6 and B7 A4s. Idea is they lower the front end by 15-20mm. Avant owners like doing this because apparently the rear end sits lower than the front on the Avants?

Seems a good mod for ~£20!

Link here.

Not sure how that would be on mine. The sport suspension is 20mm lower than standard plus the votex kit makes it lower. I don't want to do anything to this that affects the ride or the usability

Imo it looks spot on as it is. When i was watching you reverse onto my driveway, the side skirts were only 1.5 inches from the drop kerb, so any lower and it would'nt really be practical anymore

Fair enough :) something to keep in mind when you're 2 years down the line and looking for another mod :p

I'd say it still would lower yours a bit, people with A4 (B7) S-Lines have fitted them and noticed a subtle drop

They are nice, but need to be silver. Look tacky in any other colour.

Yeh and bright silver works nice with the blue. It won't be happening anytime soon, if at all. I only posted so you could say the standard wheels are fine

I might be removing the passenger one this weekend to fix the rear washer (nothing changes) so it'll be first to get the inside cleaned and waxed

You really have done that the wrong way round haha you'll have a fit fuelling the a4 :p

Looks nice though, my friend had one awhile ago, lovely comfortable cars.

Didnt realise you had a build thread until now, im almost as bad as you not making one for 5 years!

So far, its actually pretty reasonable on fuel. Will have a better idea of the mpg by the weekend. I'm quite lucky that my commute is 25miles up the motroway at 60mph.

Its only half a build thread
My car looks nothing like whats on here. I'm a keen photographer but I either forget to take pics when working on the car, or I take pics and leave them on a memory card, because I do most of my posting on the Ipad

I'll try and do more detailed write ups of whats happening from now on.

I wonder if the seats can be retro heated
Bloke here used an aftermarket retrofit kit which looks very, very neat and OEM. I know it's an A6 but they're almost identical. Skip to page 2 of the link as the bloke in that thread did the rears first.

It seems it would be rather expensive to do a complete Audi OEM retrofit, despite the fact that looms and stuff are cheap-ish and readily available (Kufatec), because I believe you'd need a new climate control unit, as that is where the OEM switches are mounted.

New plates fitted today.
Also fitted a new battery cover, rear wiper and wind deflectors but no photos of them yet.
Maybe later once my new centre caps are on

Few small things to come in the next few weeks - new front grill with the chrome part colour coded, full dis install, new exhaust tips and a remap on the 4th hopefully

Also got the chance last night to find out how well a Quattro can power slide

whats a dis install? Power slide or cheap budget tyres lol?

Disc install?

Drivers information system. I have the one that tells you miles to empty, bulbs out, handbrake on, washers empty etc.

With a new wiper stalk and some vagcom coding I can get it to tell me mpg, and a few other bits.

It was power sliding, but probably the fact it has good front tyres and ling longs on the back helps

Hope Gary's A4 has the correct control module as only certain ones are compatible with DIS I'm told...

Edit: Gary's just answered my own question, already got partial DIS so it will work

Yeh I have cruise too so my control module is good to go with full dis and a mf sw.

I also have the right control module for auto lights, wipers and dimming mirror :funk:
