1.8 16v Gti????

Hey guys

new to the forum adn thought Id post a quick question about a gti im about to view tomorrow.

Its basically a kiwi ( my fav colour) mk2 gti 1.8 16v.

Its covered 120k and is very cheap.

Whats this engine like compared to the cupra and 2L engine available? Is there a big difference in spec level etc?

There were 3 engines put in these to my knowledge. A 1.8 16v, a 2.0 8v and the 2.0 16v. These 3 engines were put in Cupra's and Gti's.

The spec on the engine compared to the 2.0 16v is, the gear box and some power.

Really it will come down to the actual car and how well it has been kept.

How much is it going for?

450 quid but I think around 400 as it hasa blowing centre section. Its cheap and has long mot and decent tax. Good wee project I think.

If its up for 450. Tell him you have 300 in your pocket. Always be stingy when buying a car. Apart from a house, what else are you going to buy thats more expensive than a car?

lol dont you worry If its available for cheaper than 400 Ill be taking it if its ok.

The 1.8 16v was put in some of the older GTi's, it's the ADL lump and I think you've got 130bhp as standard.
