Hi all,
First of all, I want you to excuse my bad english. I'll try to write that to understand me as far as impossible.
So I have a Mk2 Ibiza, 1.4 since 2005. At this moment there are a few changes that I was made to my car, like replacing the original air filter system with K&N cone filter (It's difficult to define that is there any effect of it). Someone say to me that the induction kit takes effect only on Full injection engines not on Mono-injection. I also replace the standard bumpers, with bumpers from 1999 Ibiza TDi, the interior (side/door panels and seats) is from the Mk3 2001 Ibiza, but it's not finished yet. Sorry about that I get departed too far from the main question that i have.
The question is: Does it will fit the Golf Mk2 1.8 16v KR engine (with ECU, Electric installation and gearbox) in my 1.4 ABD Mk2 Ibiza. Other possibility is the 2.0 16v ABF from Golf Mk3 or IBIZA/CORDOBA. I prefer the KR, but I don't know does it will fit on the mounting parts. I read for many engine conversions, but there is no such a foolery, like mines.
First of all I planned to replace the standard suspension and brakes. I want to replace my rear drum brakes with discs. Does it will fit a GTI golf mk3(or other model with rear disc brakes) rear axel to my IBIZA? I want the rear and front wheel mounting to be like the standard 4x100 between the bolts of the wheel, not 5x100 like the GTi golf.
I know that I have to change the front brakes (complete system), but with brakes from what model? I want the bigger I can fit with my 15" 7J wheels.
The drive shafts should be replaced too, to fit the gearbox. Should I have to change the original steering system?
I'll stop for now with the questions, to see what you will advise me. Please don't tell me to sell my car and buy a GTi. I know that, what I want to do will be expensive, but I want to make my car by myself and to make it that I want to be, ofcourse with the pricless help and advices of my friends and I hope the e new friends that I'll find here.
So, I hope that I'm not getting you into a mess and boring you.
Thanks in advance to anyobody can help me, I'll appreciate it.
Cheers,
AsenZo
