is it not just a case of enlarging the hole that is currently made for the sub and lowing it to make it flush? then just the same with the amp and fibreglass etc the top?

Yea that would work. You'd need two of those tho, one for the red and one for the white. Don't forget that everytime you bypass the RCA leads you loose quality. I tried running a twin sub with my other amp but it was less bass than I got from the sub I have in ATM.

And yes Zach yours was free but mine was only £40 for a sub, amp and wiring lol. And it's a bit more complicated than that blackout. To keep sound quality you would need to make a solid floor and mount to that and then put the back of the sub into some airtight hand made boxing. Not hard but not easy lol.

I wouldn't bother, they're crap. As is a lot of the one box stuff. Best bet is to find a decent (Alpine or JBL) and get a seperate amplifier for it. You want to budget ~£35 for a decent wiring kit too. What's you budget and I'll happily have a look! Talkaudio.net is full of good advice.

Also, you can get a lot more for your money second hand.

To be honest £50-60 for the lot (including wiring kit), I have ordered the cable from ebay for the standard alana head unit (Link)

My bro knows someone with the old Fli unit and said it was ok. The bass on the speakers is already good, just wanted a bit of a better sound overall.

What do you have then? Just been looking on ebay as mentioned for something nearby.
