12 months tax on cupra?

Just clicked on the link about car tax thanks im gutted any cupra registered from march 2001 onwards gets taxed £205 for 12 months and any cupra registered before that date gets charged £180 for 12 months tax, seems so unfair!

It is.. it's just a shame no one told us it would be that way...

think of it this way mate.. at least you aren't paying £205 for a 130 bhp.. if you owned a Punto HGT then you would be... that's the way I look at it

would these dates correspond with the change from AQX to AYP seeing as its all about new emissions regulations?

Oh well yeah i would refuse to pay over 205 quid for a crappy punto hgt and its not too bad as 200 bhp is a lot better than paying the same price for a punto with 130bhp! Well done to everyone not affected that £25 will get you some nice cold beers!

Yeah true that and fuses going bang and replacing the fuse board, oh the joys of motoring! Theres always a minor weakness in any motor tho! Still cupras and cupra r s are still ausome!

Tax linked to emissions never made much sense to me.Her indoors £205 for her cupra,me £180 for a 4litre ,18 to the gallon 4x4.My mates 1971 3.5 range rover nothingTax exempt!!!!!!!!

Post-april 2001 Y Reg onwards - the tax is done on emissions, 189g/co2 for my R is £205 as said, but if your cupra is pre april 01, on an X plate, it falls under the general grouping of 'engine bigger than 1.5litre', my brothers arosa 1.4 is 2000 W reg, and he only pays £110 for a year! Thinking of converting, its quick-ish! hehe

pre April 01 is £188 for the yr.... anything after is £205... sorry guys who got the newer ones...

mine was one of the last to be produced so I get the lovely £205 slap across the face
