Hi i'm wantin to buy a cupra r 225, i've looked at lots of other hot hatches (type r, focus rs, etc.) and i'm very much won over by the cupra r but however after searchin various trader websites i'm very much in need of help as to what i should be lookin out for.
Most of the cars i've seen online are quite a distance away so i'm not really wantin to be up n down the country and learnin as i go what the bad points n good points are. I would be very grateful if any current or previous cupra r owners could give me advice on any areas i need to watch out for, any known problems that i should i avoid.
I'm after a 2005/06 cupra r 225 which is totally standard no mods in platinum grey (the colour isn't too important for ur help, altho i've read that i'm better off stayin clear of the yellow as it fades)
Is there any known faults that i might over look when viewin a car? i would be very grateful if anyone could help as i'm finally wantin a car i can look after and keep for quite a long time as i'm tired of ownin modified boy racer cars that have been money pits

thanks in advance for your help

Agree with GF47, make sure the door seals are in good nic otherwise you'll be a victim of doorwell damp. Doesn't smell pleasant either :)

I'm looking for one myself and have found the buyers guide linked to very useful. Not many about up here in Scotland though!

First thing I checked when I bought mine a few weeks ago. It was all clear even though it was raining heavy the day I bought it and a few days before. Now I've got water on the sills so they must have started going within the 3 weeks I've had it :(
