My tdi 150 40k service was 280 quid at stealers. I reckon parts cost em well less than 50 quid so labour doesn't come cheap. I estimated 3 hours at most so nearly 80 quid an hour
They change oil n filter {obviously} Fuel filter,Cabin filter,Brake fluid,Air filter,give it
a visible going over, and provide you with a nice lemon citrus smell when you wash wipe your windows.Wheels won't even be taken off unless you need brake pads which is extra dosh, and if you are really lucky like I wasn't motor may come back scratch and chip free.THATS ABOUT IT REALLY.
That's real ripping off. When I read last reply hunted bill out to check if my memory was playing tricks on me.NOPE. 278.91 Don't you just love the nerve of some stealers. No wonder we give em an even worse name.
cheers for all the replys guys the reason for asking what was involved is i'll get my own guy to do the service an stamp the book and use dealers parts
i used star performance last year for my 3 year 25,000 mile sevice and they only took 75 quid, half the price of the stealers and they didn't give me a list the length of my arm for work that my car needed. my service light has only just come on so i've e-mailed jim at star to get my car booked in and a price for the 40,000 mile service, i'm sure i asked him last year and was quoted 110 quid, i'd much rather have jim or brian service the black beast rather than some yts guy at the stealers. i think its plugs and leads at the 40,000 not sure if theres anything else or not.
theres a place in motherwell mate, bedrock veedubs or something, guy on here swears by them, check them out. better than giving the dealers your hard earned.
my car is going in for its 40k on tuesday, stealers wanted £350!! Inde-Tech are doing it for £170. Its an ibiza though, seems a little expensive compared to the non-dealer prices you lot are talking about.
