Yes mate I removed the rear wind deflectors to see how it would look - but broke one of them when I was doing so! - I am on the hunt for just some new rear ones now though.

Little update 15/7/2012

Ive had some red Lamin-x kicking around for ages so a boring sunday seemed a good opportunity to do something ive been meaning to get done on the car for a while.

I'll let the pics do the talking...

This was suprisingly easy to do - took about an hour in total and improves the look of the back end even further.

Plans for the rest of the year include:

1) Egr delete pipe

2) Full laser allignment (AmD jobbie)

3) Diagnose and resolve my engine hesitation problem

4) 25mm front and rear arb's

5) Sort the clutch out - this is just too much of an expensive job right now though!

There is more but the progress will continue into 2013.

Thanks for looking - Liam.

Whats happening with this beaut lately then? no updates in ages! I am doing the opposite to you with bumpers and putting an R one on mine as I think it makes the rear look fatter. What happened with the rear brakes in the end? Did you have to change the lines?

Indeed it has Been a very long time since I last updated my RR and there has been some significant changes too. My most costly mod to date has now been completed... Finally an updated Sachs clutch, oem duel mass flywheel and replacement release bearing - needless to say I can now use my remap to its full potential. Taking the time to save up and sort this out really has restored the love I'd lost.
Other changes include a new rear caliper as the piston bloody seized and a full service and mot.
Visually there has been no changes but look out next year for a full front end respray, a return to 18 inch wheels and because the car is now ready for it a hybrid turbo set-up...:)

With the new clutch, flywheel and release bearing your going to love the power now, I had mine changed last year so hopefully a remap is on my list in the new year.

Car looks fantastic mate, loving the work to the calipers and the cold air feed, these are things I'm planning to do in future.

Where you've swapped out the plastic OEM feed, have you just wedged the pipe in to the open hole in the airbox or attatched it on somehow?

And how hard are the grills to remove around the fog light? I have a Cupra so different bumpers but pretty much the same principle I would have thought?

Right time for some MUCH needed updates...

Alot has happened so please bare with me.

First off was some new wheels which took me a few months to save up for! Nothing particularly new or not done before but ive always had a soft spot for them.

Pics... before 17's just dont quite work on a Leon (unless your very low or Euro'd)

After...

Pro Race 1.2's in anthracite - much better and substantially better tyres too!

With my new job working in a bodyshop I set about choosing a colour that was similar to the wheels for the wing mirrors. The actually colour is Audi Aubergine Gray (it is very metallic when the sun hits them).

Next up was some 3M tint film for the headlight protectors.

Theres more...

With me learning more and more in the bodyshop i finally decided to bite the bullet and sort out my front bumper which was suffering from laquar peel, stone chips and a slight scuff from a bike pedal!

No going back now!

In the booth primed wet on wet.

Base coat (spent over half an hour before deciding which colour variant to go with).

And finally three coats of clearcoat. Not to bad for someone whos been spraying four months!

Decided to give my front seats a deep clean as i thought they didn't quite look as fresh as they could.

Just goes to show even fairly clean looking seats can be improved upon!

Not looking to bad considering the car has done well over 100k.
However after doing all that a week later something else came up on Ebay...

By chance a fellow scn member was selling his Cupra R seats (S3 AKR) - They were in amazing condition considering most on ebay need alot of work to clean up. Anyway i had to have them so I managed to get a 'Buy it now' sorted and literally a week later they were fitted in my own car.

Fitting was surprisingly easy and visually the car looks so much better from inside, Much softer to sit on then my old FR+ seats too.

Coming up for 130k it was time for a major service and to sort a few other annoying problems the car had developed.

All filters and oil changed.
Passenger rear door was seized shut and required a new locking mechanism.
Both handbrake cables replaced.
Tracking re-alligned.

Bye bye another £380.00 quid!

Anyway i always supply my own oil and Millers fully synthetic from Opie oils is what my high milage PD engine seems to like. so it gets it refreshed every 10k regardless of price.

And finally this has been kicking around for a while and is soon to be going off for a full re-trim to make it perfect.

Very much looking forward to getting this fitted as it already feels so much better to hold then my standard Cupra style one.

Minor update 30/8/2013.

My steering wheel has now been sent away for a full re-stitch at a cost of £160.00. Turn around time is 5 days so it might just be fitted to the car before Trax. Also I have been busy in the spray booth again! Pics to follow...

Liam.

Nice updates Liam - got to see you still have her and giving her the love she needs. I think you could of saved yourself £160 and cleaned up that steering wheel mate. As long as the leather is not damaged on it with the right products you can make the leather as good as new.

With my porsche the wheel was completely shiny. After 30 minutes of cleaning and treating the leather it is nice a matt looking. Dare I say it, looks like new.

Cheers Maz - I have been spending alot on her lately I must admit!
I had a specialist look at the wheel and the leather was badly grazed around the top edge he suggested a repair may not last overtime so after some research I found a pretty good repair and re-stitching company and well its in their hands now I guess...

Originally I had planned to sell and start looking for something new but my continued long commute to work means I have no choice really but to keep the FR and possibly invest more money into increasing the cars performance. I plan on giving Darkside Developments a call to see if 240bhp + is an option and what it would cost to achieve these sorts of figures.
