Hi

I have a small scratch on one alloy which is not worth refurbing as it has only taken the siver paint off, is there anywhere apart from my local wheel refurb garage that I could source a small amount of the silver paint to patch it up.

Cheers

Nick

Local auto shop like Halfords and get a touch up paint brush.

Ask if you can take a couple of colours out to have a look until you get the closest match.

Or if you go to a body shop - ask for the colour chips for SEAT/Audi/VW. Then look through. They might mix you some for there and then. :)

Or Halfords as said.

I think that I have looked into this once before and it seems that there are no proper codes for every manufacturer's alloy wheel colours. Worse than that, if you get your wheels refinished, its very much up in the air as to which "silver" they get done in "blueish" "greenish" "yellowish" - it seems they are all the same - the only proviso was "just get two done at a time and put them on the same side - no one will ever know the difference" - that didn't sound too good. Now that about 60>75% of cars get alloys factory fitted why can't they sort out the exact colour, then there is the metallic fleck partical size!

RUM4MO, I know what you mean, why cant manufacturers get their act together and sort these alloy paint codes out!

I found a thread on here last night, I think it was for either an Ibiza Cupra or Leon cupra where a guy who does alloy refurbishing recommended this paint code, he said its not THE paint code but a very close match for touch ups :)
