Yo guys, wonder if anyone has had/cracked this one :)

Car was running fine recently but had habit of dying/stalling as you pull away once or twice. then at KFC died again for no reason.

Now will start and tickover sweet as a nut - touch throttle and the engine rises then stops at 1200 rpm approx then dies down to 800rpm and then back up.

Throttle only changes induction noise when over half throttle, same all the time hot and cold just hunts up 'n' down

now I didn't have full tool/workshop to hand I'll confess but checked so far.

Dizzy cap cleaned/checked.
Rotor arm clean.
leads changed.
checked dizzy/hall sensor connector earth etc all ok
checked coil/wiring
changed coil for known working one.
checked voltage +5v and earth on TPS and scales output too
Crank sensor earth and positive input/output
Switch on rear of throttle open/close circuit.

has been stood a long while so checked idle valve and cleaned it out too - can hear it opening closing but on ignition only springs open to a small '2/3mm gap. have run up and pushed open and close to no effect either.

has been raining and had wiper motor changed recently so torch scanned for damage/trapped wires etc just in case

:confused::confused::confused:

need to if scan says anything (doubt it) but no matter what I checked and changed all stays same :(

all i can think is hall sensor in the dizzy but didn't have one to hand to test with

my final thought after trying all the other bits

hmmm time to hunt down a dizzy to test

running sweet as a nut tonight - then 1/2 later playing up again

still leaning to the crank sensor so i'll vag com it see if anything at all rears up

Air flow sensor?? I had a problem where it would idle fine then any sort of rev's and the engine would cut out.

Found the cables damaged in the sensor
