DONT put a cupra R badge on the back of your leon!! Because one day you'll come across a real LCR and it'll smoke you!!

Was going to work tonight and a black Leon passed me as i was turning onto main road. I thought Mmm an LCR lets play.

So we get through the round about and he's off im in hot pursuit about 100 yard behind. He moves into inside lane as i approach fast, but i need to watch because the lane i'm in has a nasty bump in the road on a slight left hand bend which when you hit it it knocks you to the right towards kerb/barrier/disaster, so im holding back till i pass it, turns the corner and the roadies are putting cones out off the back of their lorry so i hit the anchors and flash my new race buddy into my lane. We cruise to the next roundabout and im behind him and i see the Cupra R badge on the left hand side of boot denoting LCR210. But then i spy the small TDI badge on the right hand side!!

I felt robbed.

Anyway if your(tdi guy) reading this mate. Your car was looking tip top nice and shiny unlike mine.:D

Definately agree with not putting an 'R' badge on a TDI but if it was a 150 remapped then you would have had a fair race I think! ;)
Though then again if you have yours remapped too....then you may smoke him!

I'm weary of making my FR into a wannabe LCR.

Obviously having the LCR kit on confuses things. One of the reasons I will probably keep the silver mirrors.

Thinking of taking the FR badges off the side and maybe debadging the rear. Might have to stick and FR or a TDI badge on the back though. Mmmmm....

olaf - There is, in my opinion, a big difference between having a car that looks like something else, and sticking a badge on that actually claims the car is something else.

Your car came out of the factory with that kit on and, by the sounds of your plans, will end up being a fast, well sorted car. There is nothing wrong with that at all.

But... the moment you stick an LCR badge on it, you're pretending it's something it isn't. That's wrong, IMO :)

I cant stick the Nova badge I got off ebay on then? :cartman:

As the original post says, asking for trouble if you are pretending you are driving something you are not.

Your quite right. If you look at the heavily modded tasteful TDI's on here, some people put the cupra R kit but kept to the fact that its a TDI FR or Cupra.

I was wondering if I should remove the cupra badge off mine.... lately it seems like almost everyone wants to play and my baby is just a teeny bit underpowered to play with the big boys....

I dont know wether or not to debadge mine. Be nice people not knowing its a 20vt, but at the same time its nice to show it off that it is :p

That story reminds me of the nova drivers that pop the "T" badges on. Lame IMO
