Advice on PD 160 air intake and green panel filter?

still 30 pound on a peice of plastic that barely sees a gain. thats well exspensive for what you get out of it.
i know if i had a car without the cupra intake id make one myself and it could still quite easily look oem not that anyone really sees your engine anyway.
or do what damien says get a open cone filter.

if i lived local to you id make you one which would be better than the cupra intake.
its not that im not fussed about having it. if i didnt have a cupra i wouldnt be fussed about having one id make one.
bite the bullet and make one go on then your see the difference it probally doesnt make for a fraction of the price then you wont be dissapointed if you did buy one. :)

i thought bout making one, but theres not much room down there and alot of vibration from the tdi, i was worried about the longivity of a home made pipe with it rubbing up against other pipes etc and getting an air tight connection on the airbox looked tricky - may have had to get a new airbox.

Fitted green cotton filter today, had a quick look at my pd160 intake to see if it needed smoothing and gues what...? The previous owner had already done it! Saved me a job on my day off!!

i can get my hands on a pd160 air intake from my local seat dealer for £9 for the hose and £15 for the adapter. ive heard that it makes the air intake sound (gushing) louder and was wondering if u notice any performance enhancements?

PD 160 Air Intake Pipe and Trumpet

Brand New and Unused Genuine Seat Parts.

Ibiza Cupra Intake Trumpet - 6LL 129 621 - £15.96 Cost new Including VAT
Ibiza Cupra Intake Pipe - 6LL 129 618 - £60.31 Cost new Including VAT

This is a SEAT Ibiza Cupra PD 160 part, but is also a common modification for a Remapped Skoda Fabia VRS as an upgrade form the standard PD 130 intake.

I've just highlighted the prices just in case your blind as a bat or your mate is genually thick for selling them at the price he is.
