randomly came across your cars jouney mate, it looks brilliant!

Looking at the state of the rusty brake pads on the first page of the thread reminds me of my mk1 Leon TDI's too lol...

This is a question for any one because I have no clue.. Wanted to know if I get all my pads changed, is it worth getting the calipers done too? I really like the painted ones... how much would I be looking at to get the lot done?

Sorry to hear about your job hope you start something soon. Yeh had the decal on for a couple of years now still looking good got the idea of someone on here they had the S badge logo but I didn't think they looked good IMO.

Thanks Kev, if you want painted calipers do them yourself as I did.Cost me alot to have all the discs and pads done tbh about £400 but had to be done and that was a couple of years ago now!!

Right since the broken window bent alloy & new tyre saga the other month got annoyed and spent no money on the car hated it in fact. Then decided to carry on and got a local body shop who do work for my work to get me a cupra bumper and spray it for me for £300 all in. Got it home and realised the stupid factory Seat paint is flaking off. The body shop cannot really claim under warranty as they will blame them so the body shop will respray that area when he comes back from holiday with an aerosol. He told me to put it on the car anyway but not happy things seem to keep going wrong with the car.
I also noticed the rear arch lining do not meet the new bumper apparently this is normal the holes do line up thou and had to take metal clips fort eh screw to go into off the old bumper too no one mentioned this before.

Also got new badge for boot as old one was rusting the clear plastic had peeled off and the red had faded only had it on 2 years! Painted the door pillar ones and lacquered them for now as they had peeled and faded as well.

Have also painted my engine cover but not taken a finished pic yet as not sure if I want to paint the plastic bit with tdi on it as well yet.
When the bumper is sorted will be fitting my Milltek then need to get my air con fixed ready for the National meet!

New bumper looks good Aimez. Can't notice peeling paint until close-up anyway... but I guess you know its there!

Yeh is very annoying as wanted the exhaust on and then your mates to detail it but now yet another delay *sigh*

The paint flaking looks like it could have been caused by masking tape. Is that the only area where the paint has flaked?

Could be because they put the reflectors in too soon after it was painted?

Mine is being detailled on the 20th/21st

No he pushed the reflectors in when I gave them to him a few days after it was painted and watched him put them in. Masking tape yes, sorry didn't really explain it is that but he took it off when the paint was nearly cooled as he said if you leave tape on too long it is then likely to pull paint off but it was not on their long so shouldn't flake off, it is flaking off a little bit next tot he number plate (took a pic but came out crap) the paint seems an extremely thin layer.

The guy has been spraying parts for over 30 years and knows how long to leave tape on for. He was spraying a Porsche Cayenne door when I went in and said masking tape should not take the paint off.
I didn't want to get arsey as it was not a bad price for him to spray it but want it to look right!

Bought some nice cleaning bits to get me on the right track after the detail will see what products he uses and get some to keep it looking good after.

Yeah the paint is really thin on those parts. I don't think primer is even used before the top coat!

Bit stupid then really being that a number plate will be stuck on. Will be getting some legal pressed plates and plain surrounds eventually. Yeh get some pics up of your car when its done as not seen many black cars before & after pics!

new bumper looks great! Bit odd about the paint flaking off though, hope you get that sorted.. Your new exhaust will compliment the bumper really well

I really want my milltek to have the same tip as yours, it looks much nicer than mine

I wasn't too sure on the new shape at first tbh but think it is very different to the bog standard oval I guess. Think I will try and get it fitted this weekend as was drinking all last Saturday so couldn't!

Looking really good Aimez, a really good thread here! I am biased though with having the same Ibiza FR (Just without half as many mods as yours). You do seem to be having a lot of bad luck though, what with the damage to your car on a few occasions and then your dads Merc.

woo hoo.....you finally got round to getting the milltek on.....had mine on for a while and i love it...you wont be disappointed!

Monday Milltek will be on costing £25, also my air con/climate control does not work on cold, got the workshop foreman at work to have a peek he touched a pipe that should be be cold and was warm and said when I turn it on it is not working right as there is no tell tale click as it starts up. Hoping it won't be too expensive. Was gonna get the air con guy who comes into work to look but he is always there when I am not so give up now.

Thanks Aaron yes my accident and my Dads were in the exact same spot and someone was killed a mile or so more down the same road on Sunday to many impatient people overtaking on that road outside my house, very dangerous.
