Air fuel ratio on LCR

wideband sensor measuring a/f mixture o2 sensor basically .
Sometimes if the probe is not positioned in the exhaust correctly it can give dodgy readings.

Anyway it's safer to run a/f of 12 or low at high rpm,dumping fuel cools cylinder walls.
From what i've heard certain well know vag "tuners" map very lean.

some map lean and have engine/turbo/housing issues and some others map rich, so in time bore wash could occur from overfueling so much.

Just had it confirmed by a call to Star, the standard pipe up the exhaust does not work for the LCR or TT with the same engine, he uses a probe at the front of the car to measure AFR.

I remember Clive Atthowe commenting that a remapped Cupra R was running a bit lean for his liking at the recent charity weekend (Sunday). I didn't see the AFR graph, but I think it was cupra_brown's car.

It sounds like a few peeople have had this problem and I think this may be a red herring as we all cant have the same fault.

If this was a common fault the amount of people on here with the knowlegde they have of these cars would have found what the problem was long ago.

I think I will maybe need to visit Star Performance and see what they think, who knows maybe when I get there and if I get the all clear, I might "need" to get a remap.

Wont be going up to Star until the week commencing the 17th Dec as Im off that week, but i will post as soon as I can.
