AMP + Subwoofer installation

Hi,

I have a 2019 SEAT Ibiza and I'm trying to install an amplifier and subwoofer in the trunk.

I've already run the power cable from the battery to the trunk. Since I didn't want to cut into the car's original wiring, I bought a plug-and-play adapter with RCA outputs and a remote wire that connects directly between the factory head unit (located in the glovebox) and the original wiring harness. I also ran the RCA and remote cables to the trunk.

For the ground connection, I used a bolt located underneath the rear seats.

The amplifier and subwoofer were previously installed in my Mk1 Leon and were working perfectly. The wiring kit is from Focal and is the same one I used before without any issues.

Everything seemed fine during the installation, but I'm having a problem: the subwoofer doesn't produce any sound at all. The factory speakers are working normally, and I have both power and remote signal at the adapter and at the amplifier.

If I disable the LPF (Low Pass Filter), I can hear music coming from the subwoofer, but it's extremely quiet. As soon as I enable the LPF, there is no sound at all.

I've also connected the subwoofer in bridged mode on the amplifier.

What could I be doing wrong? Is there something I'm missing or overlooking?

I think the problem is with the radio; it needs to be activated to switch to the amplifier. When I changed radios, mine had an original amplifier and it wasn't working; it had to be programmed or activated to function.

You don't need to change the coding

Your unit is configured to power the speakers directly. You've connected a high level to low level converter to the speaker outputs

If you reconfigure the unit for us with an external amp then it won't output a high level output

Original external amplifier communicates via BAP/MOST. Your amplifier doesn't communicate at all, it just gets fed a low level signal from the adapter

We don't fit aftermarket audio systems so I'm not sure sorry. In the past customers have used amplifiers with a high level input. I've never seen that specific adapter in use

I've planned my project which is not cutting any wires aswell, we already done it in my brothers car.

For mine im going with https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/match/amplifiers/up-6dsp
Then a https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/helix/amplifiers/m-one-x connected to the Match with RCA cable.

The match is gonna be connected to the car using https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/match/adaptors-harnesses/premium-molex-adaptors/pp-pam-92b
^ this cable match my system, just ask AI which one fits your car, depends on the sound system already installed.

I dont have any pictures of his setup, but basically you attach the adapter behind the MIB, there is a cable already but you hijack the signal from it.
Run it to the amplifier and all speakers is connected through this, if your sub needs more juice, you can run a RCA cable from the Match to a Mono.

The amp is around 700 euro.

Hello everyone! Just came here to give you guys an update.
So the adapter showed in OP came with the "wrong" pinout, since it was getting the signal from the twitters and not from the main door speakers.
When to a specialist here in Portugal, that I give a huge shout out, Ignition Vortex, they figured out the pinout of the OG cables from the car and switched the adapter ones to match the correct pinout.
Tested everything and everything works perfect!
Using the RCAs of course.

So, tip of the day, if you order aftermarket adapters, always make sure they are the correct pinout for your car!
