I would give up on this thread as it seems the same people are trying to be negative about everything to do with this car .

Don't. As the OP pointed out (but doesn't seem to have been noticed by some) this thread is for people who don't have any issues. There probably won't be many replies because people who ain't got a bad word don't tend to post.

I think it's probably more a case of people, having spent 30-40k+ on a car, expect it to know what side of the road we drive on in the UK. 🤷

Yup👍

We have had ours since October 204 Hybrid V2. Yes it has some software glitches but no more than modern BMW, Mercedes, Audi I have owned recently. None of them were short fixes either By OTA.
Car is right size, style, economy and fun oh and it is physically on our drive so I feel qualified to give opinion…….

I've had my car for a year and over 10 000 miles.

My only complaints are really minor - in last year I've had couple of occasions where infotainment caused some minor issues (like not picking up my user properly) or front assist being unable to cope with tough weather.

Btw I am on 1690 software so that tells you a lot (I had no need to upgrade). I've booked a yearly service where I will get the upgrade, hopefully it doesn't mess anything up :)

I think that overall, if you have your heart set on a Formentor, go for it. Most (but not all) of the software issues have been addressed now and I would imagine that by the time your new car has been delivered with the latest hardware / software updates, you would be very unlucky to have any problems.

I have my car since March 2022, 1.5 150hp DSG, almost full options. I'm still in 1890, I only had 3 / 4 small OTA updates (no relation with the update to A896 and 1896, well I think so).
I have almost no problems, even on the software side.

So yes, I received a fault free car since the beginning, it's not impossible  (Probably that receiving it with already version 1890 helped)

Interesting list. I had the car which is on number 16, it indeed had small issue at 3800 miles, but it didn't stop me from coming back from Switzerland to UK and it was fixed by dealer next week (already had service booked anyway). I didn't realise that previous generation of A6 is unreliable, I was aware of problems of current model.

Otherwise, I see nothing has changed on the forum, happy users and unhappy users :)

All new models have issues
It shouldn't be like this but technology advances faster than it should and it's all about profit

It depends what you mean by perfect, pretty much every car I've had has things I wanted to change and in some cases found out via forums how to do so. Some have had uncorrectable and major design flaws (e.g. the misplaced DPF hardware on the diesel Discovery Sport), other badly developed - the crappy auto gearbox on a Mitsubishi Outlander.

Are there things I'd like to change on the Formentor - yes, but mainly all software related (some have been fixed with the latest update - saving which clock style is displayed on exiting the vehicle - first world issue but some haven't - yet - defaulting to Syncing the temperature settings).

Has it let me down -no.

So yes, I'd say it's been perfect.

Another perfect Formentor here. Running 1896 software, and all possible equipment on a Hybrid car so all the systems and functions that can possible fail are present - but there are no failures.

Android Auto running flawlessly every time, infotainment and startup is fast and consistent. No glitches, bugs or annoyances. ACC is predictable, sound system is smooth, SOS system exists without me knowing about it. Oh, and the emergency braking system has saved the rear of the car from a bumper scratch already (monday morning, you know).

All the negative threads are confusing to me. Can't recognize any of it, and hoping it stays that way.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I fueled the Formentor for the first time in ages yesterday. 44 km/liter over 1500 km range since last refuel. Wallet is happy too.

Thanks, its good to see there are reliable examples out there. To those who joined in with their faults, Thankyou but has been pointed out that I don't want to read about them again, as they are well documented elsewhere hence my reason for starting this thread.
For the record my current car is at number 7 on the what car reliability list and while I have a couple of small issues I have experienced nothing that some others have.

Shocked that my previous car (VW Touran) is 4th on the list. It was pretty good car and reliable during 6 years (100.000 km) with 3 kids destroying it :ROFLMAO:.

Just had a battery die at 5 years (that's normal) and rear light malfunction that was covered in warranty.

MIB v2 infotainement was old (with Android Auto) but I never ever had a single bug.

I think some of it is down to expectation and whilst I'm sure there's some rolling without issue variations will occur. Personally I've never used ACC and have no interest in it, Carplay? I just use the Sat Nav and BT audio from my phone. Ye olde way of doing things but it works fine..

Why do you people turn up in every potentially positive thread? Get a different car and

Well the OP asked if there were any perfect cars out there and mine has been far from perfect, so giving my opinion. If you don't like it, skip over my reply!

No issues here. Love the car! Fun driving experience.
Only exeption was the anoying auto lock when driving over 15kmh. But I solved it with ODBeleven.

Nothing mechanically wrong with the car, but the software side of it is absolutely atrocious. It often losses communication with some of the car modules, yesterday I had no climate control for example. A restart usually fixes it, but it shouldn't happen.

After 5 weeks of ownership I nearly sold it to we buy any car this weekend and was happily prepared to take the hit on money loss. If I could've thought of anything I could buy that almost met my needs it would've gone. Instead I spent 3 hours sound deadening the doors to try and get rid of the rattles in the drivers door.

I originally came here looking for opinions before I bought the car and thought it can't be as bad as some are making out and should be very similar to my previous S3. Well unfortunately I'm now siding more with those people and the car is earning its nickname of 'A complete sack of ****'.

We’ve been over this. Every single other thread. If you want to go off topic, do it somewhere else.
