In all honesty the thread question is completely pointless as there is no such thing as perfect, what they are asking is are there any acceptable cars out there? Then it is down to everyone's own perception of what is acceptable. Is it of acceptable quality, reliability, functionality, etc? You yourself have pointed out errors or things you'd like to change therefore it isn't a perfect car, however for you it is perfectly acceptable and you would recommend it. Others may feel differently, for example they may feel their car is reliable but not acceptable in quality or functionality for a £42k car. Also we may be comparing apples to oranges, I have a VZ2 310 but someone else may have a hybrid so we both probably want different things out of our cars, what is acceptable to them may not be for me and vice versa. With experience I'd preferred to have bought the VZ3 to gain the Brembo brakes as the standard 2 pots don't give me the feel I'm used to, therefore it isn't perfect but it is acceptable. Is this constructive or just me complaining about the car, well this depends on your point of view. What if I said the standard brakes are rubbish, it's actually the same exact thing but comes across completely differently.
As I said I misinterpreted the op's question giving my opinion where ultimately it wasn't wanted. What I didn't appreciate was being accused of randomly joining threads to bring them down. I joined this forum to be a part of it, to ask questions and share my experiences and knowledge where I can. I don't join forums just to complain and as I mentioned I was here for a few weeks before I ordered my car trying to get a feel for it and the brand. I listened to everyone's opinions and made my own choice. Looking back at my history people can see I've asked questions about some of the things my car does, some are things that are actually normal and this forum helped me understand that, the rest are things I'm experiencing.
Some just take this too seriously. If I loved my car and someone said it was crap I wouldn't bleat on about how they are wrong and to go elsewhere, that's their opinion and has no bearing on my own thoughts and experiences, but I can appreciate they may have different expectations or requirements. I can also confirm that when I do eventually sell the
Formentor I won't be back on here as I won't have common experiences to share.
I will leave this thread alone now as I'm taking it a little off topic.
