I need a new wing for my drivers side.. My question is.. are they bolted straight on? is it a hard job to do myself with no experience? I had a look and it looks like it bolts straight off, and the new one will go straight no with no hassle? Is this the case?

Many thanks in advance

not done one myself but i imagin you remove the interior trim and there will be probably 3 bolts/screws or torques bolts holding it on... undo them and disconnect wire loom.

and in true Haynes fassion -- to refit is the reverse of the above operation.

lol i thought wing mirror... yeah its bolted and mostlikely a hella lot of sealer. bumper off, arch liner off (or at least where it bolts to wing) prob a coupple behind the door and all along the top of the wing.

won't show all the fitting locations sadly but it'll help i would hope

Just be careful if you do it yourself! My car recently got bumped and I had the front wing replaced through my insurance, and they had to fit a new windscreen seal as it apparently got damaged during the replacement (I don't know how exactly). Is was the rubber seal that runs up the side edge of the windscreen.

Also they replaced the headlight, which wasn't damaged in the bump so I don't know if they maybe broke some mounting points whilst changing the wing

Just thought I'd warn you in case you have a go yourself :)

it would be vereasy for the headlight mountings to be broken if there was inpact to a wing. You would not see this without removing wing / bumper.

Do you get all your diagrams from vagcat mate? Worth signing up?

i have other tools but vagcat is ideal for older cars and so easy when it comes to sharing pics online etc so yes i highly reccomend it

not the most up to date or easiest to use but its free anyway so all good

ok well that sensor (G62) is a common failure, or has a reputation at least.

The original ones were black and the updated replacements have a green top to them. You may read or hear people refering to a green sensor.

These sensors are not too expensive, i think something like £8-9 but i cant actually remember.
Easy DIY replacement.
