I think it looks a bit too bling in my engine at the moment... I think (if I can get a little unit to myself) I'm going to whip out my whole engine after Xmas (after my MOT), and give it a proper clean, the blocks a lick of paint / and the gearbox, and might even get the whole engine bay resprayed, along with the subframe blasted and powdercoated.

you reckon you could spray the plastic bits, the A,B and C posts with some sort of plastic paint? had some ideas about roof lining but wondered about the other bits. what you reckon Llyr?
Don't see why not, Phil? If you degresed them properly etc. I'm not going to spray mine though... I don't think it would look that good tbh, being textured and all 
Your engines clean enough! Mines not been cleaned in 13 years and won't be doing as the rocker cover gasket is leaking oil and I can't be arse to spend a saturday morning replacing it.

Think I need to do my headlining at some point, try and get it closer to my interior. Engine bay is looking very clean, I really need to tackle mine. I have a shiney battery cover to fit aswell.

Thanks Craig! . Yeah it looks ok in the pics I guess, still some work to be done though! Would like to replace both bottles with some fresh new ones. You can pick up the common version of the expansion tanks (with the built in sensor etc) that fit into the Golfs for about a tenner. However, our Ibiza ones are £32 from the dealers iirc

When I had to replace my expansion tank a few years ago I just ordered mine from Euro Car Parts. Was only around a tenner like you say. Has the part for the sensor but thats the only difference with it and I havent had any problems at all with it.
I know, they're the same, it's not very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, that's all. (That statement being the absolute anal climax) lolz
Llyr, just to let you konw ive had the black vinyl done and its on its way to me so when ive made sure its up to your standards, i will post it on to you. you looking about £10!!

Hi there LMJ very nice car you've got there and nice thread also.Very tidy,nice color keep it that way.Only thing I don't like so much the vinyl on the roof for me its like a cheep honda tuning mod xD.Sorry for the honda users

Well, as you all know by now - I'm updating this thread quite often with small rather mundane updates. Business as usual I'm afraid, but I thought I'd share anyway! This will be the last of my small updates, as it's going to the bodyshop next week for some freshening up!
Anyway, decided to put some more interior lights in the car. Original plan was to fit them snugly between the rear grab handles, but this was not to be as there was no space behind for the unit etc. Contemplated several different spots, and finally settled on the inside of the window trim aperture. Look nice at night as they light up the rear seats for comfort and aid for rear passengers (anal much?!)
Wasn't very impressed, was rather cold tbf;
Slightly butchered holes due to the bit slipping over the flimsey plastic tab. (Holes for wiring);

Yup, those and the footwell lights. They're all wired up to the front / near the original loom, so I can source some kind of light delay unit / ECU from something eventually...
Nice simple and good looking mods you have! I really that black vinyl roof!! So don´t take that away!
