I've not done it for a Cordoba at all, and I don't look at part numbers, but for the five minutes it takes to check it's worth a go. With regards to that post though, I don't quite follow what the OP is doing? Those three updates should have enabled the auto windows, I recognise the numbers and they've worked fine on other cars. He mentions that the coding is similar to an Ibiza and I've done a few of those.

I'd forget about replacing the CCM, the amount of work involved in getting it set up for the car far exceeds the saving in costs. You'd be better off spending the 50 euro's on a dedicated window module. But try the coding first.

Hello again! I have made the Boot CD with what you have sent (using NERO options) and as I don't have a cable yet, I thought I'd try just the CD and see what happens. It just shows a black screen with the prompter on, but I can't do anything - like typing. Was it suppose to do that? I have no experience working with DOS. Will it work once connected to the car? Or have I done something wrong?
Thanks again for your help!

That doesn't sound right, but I have to admit I can't remember how it starts up!! If you're at the DOS prompt after the reboot then you should at least be able to type 'dir' and have a look for the VDS Pro executable.

I haven't got a disc to hand at the moment, I'll give it a go a bit later on to find out what's going on.

Great! Maybe you can also tel me how to make a bootable CD. I dont have a floppy on the laptop. So it has to be a CD. I have followed the instructions that NERO has for making bootable CD's. I also tried just copying the image that you have sent on the CD...I managed to do that but thats no good as well. The laptop doesnt even see the CD. And I can assure you that it isnt the laptop. I tried on 3 different laptops. So I must have done something wrong when I made the CD. Any other requirements? Do I need a specific version of DOS installed? I have to mention that I have Windows XP professional SP3 (in case it matters).
Cheers to ya'll!

I also use Nero, so I'll burn myself a copy and see what I do. If you still have trouble I'll post you a working copy so you'll know that one works fine.

In terms of operating system, it doesn't matter what is installed on your PC as the disc contains everything it needs to boot. Basically all you need to do is put the CD in the drive, turn off the PC, turn it back on again and then as long as your laptop is set up to boot off CD's as the primary source, it should come straight up.

With regards to the burn process, if you have .iso files associated with Nero, I believe you just double click on the file and put a CD in the drive.

I have set it up to boot from the CD. For the CD on which I've just copied that program, all my laptops/PC's...go straight to windows...they dont even see that CD. For the other CD that I have made with NERO I get tha black screen and the prompter blinking.
Now...I havent really used DOS years ago, before windows...but as you were saying...wasnt it suppose to allow me to write instructions/commands at least? I dont really remember how it use to work...:crash:

Just got the cable about one hour ago... About the VDS pro now, I've managed to open the program in command prompt. I found the program somewhere else and it has an .exe that runs the program in the command prompt. Would that work, I wonder? Or I MUST make the boot CD with the program?
If anybody who made the boot CD with VDS pro using NERO could write briefly a few instructions I would be more than grateful. I am eager to try....
Thank you my fellow seat owners!

Everything I read about this says that a command prompt won't have accurate enough timing to work correctly, hence the need for the boot disk.

I used the instructions and files at http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootablecd to create a boot disk that definitely works although I haven't managed to use it as I don't have a laptop with a serial port and my flat is about 50 metres from the nearest road/my garage to use a desktop!

That's correct, I believe it's because a command prompt has to go through Windows to get to the serial port, and that can introduce delays.

Still cant find the way to make a working Boot CD... :censored:
How did you do it? Just burned what you have send to me on it? Or did you use other options?

OK, this is what I've just done;

1. Downloaded the zip file I sent you.
2. Unzip the file so I have 'vds_pro_use_this.iso'
3. Double click on the .iso file, which brought up Nero.
4. WITHOUT CHANGING ANY SETTINGS, I put a blank CD in the drive and clicked burn.
5. Less than a minute later it was done.
6. Leaving the disc in the drive, I shutdown windows.
7. I then switched the laptop on, it autobooted the CD, and came straight up with VDS_Pro waiting for the lead to be connected.

There's not much more I can say about it to be honest, it really is that straightforward. I can't do complex things so I always go for the easiest option. It doesn't even go into DOS first, it goes straight into VDS Pro with the correct settings for a serial connection.

If you still can't get it sorted, send me your address and I'll post a working bootable CD out to you. That's pretty much all I can offer I'm afraid.

Dont know what i've done wrong...I made it with nero too. Once just a data CD. The second time I used nero settings for making boot cd and added 'vds_pro_use_this.iso'.
Also burned one using windows...kind of a copy/paste. None have worked so far.
I'lll try as you suggested and if that doesnt work either I'll go to a friend that know this things much better than i do.
Thanks a million anyways.

Ah, no I know what you're doing. You're creating a boot CD then dragging the file on to the CD. It won't work like that, that's why you get the blank screen on boot. If the double click on the ISO doesn't work, go to file/open, browse to the ISO file and do it that way.

Forget windows CD writing, that hasn't got a clue!

OK... I managed to make the boot CD - my Nero had a bug. I've re installed it and it worked straight away.
But still no luck! I've followed the instructions that I've found here and on other websites but I cannot get it to connect to any modules. I'll try getting a different laptop of someone, maybe it's the serial port of the laptop since the cable is new. Anyways...I wont give up until at least I get to try...

Anyone with a face-lift Ibiza (or Cordoba newer than 2007, as in my case) managed to activate this function using VDS Pro?
