Does spacing the rear wheels not improve the lively rear-end?
Why just space the rears not the fronts too?

You don't know how fast you can take the corner till you are on the edge, and that take a bit of finding![]()
If you're cornering correctly you should actually be accellerating very slightly through a bend to balance the car up..
PMSLBugger me I've been doing it all wrong the last 19 years
All this esoteric talk is beyond me........ah well on behalf of all us mortals I thank you for your valuable input, is it lonely all the way up there in your ivory tower?![]()

Perhaps he's used to posting on a corsa forum where everyone is 17, lol
If there's correct pressure and enough tread on the tyres, you shouldn't really be losing the tail at all, especially if you're going out of your way to avoid it. You've only got to do it with the wrong vehicles around you and you'll be toast.
If you're cornering correctly you should actually be accellerating very slightly through a bend to balance the car up. As somebody said, take all your speed off appropriately BEFORE the hazard or bend, select the appropriate gear also before it and then accellerate smoothly and gently through the bend. Unless you're on the Top Gear runway in a RWD car of course, in that case, feel free to dab the accellerator wildly whilst mid-bend![]()
Well, evidently some of the people on here seem like they need advice, if they're losing the back end at slow speeds.
But obviously not you. Oh no. You is well brilliant, innnit.
Hi mate, think this may be aimed at me as i brought the post back to life; my tyres were spot on pressure as I check them weekly when i wash and they had plenty of tread - they look new! They are just a really bad budget tyre that the dealer stuck on the car.
i had michelins all round on my old leon 1.4s and used to take the same roundabout a lot faster and not have a problem, which is why i was so suprised when the tail came out on the LCR; fortunately easy to catch on opposite lock, but not really expected at these speeds. and yes i know about braking before turning in and introducing power progressively out of bends.
anyway, falkens en route from camskill, getting fitted in the next few days hopefully, will let people know how i get on!
cheers
