Hi all,

Apologies if this is in the wrong place as i'm a newbie!

Finally managed to get my LCR after a few months of searching. A 2004 plate Platinum Grey with 85k on the clock. The car is pretty much standard apart from carbon wrapped door mirrors and drilled and grooved discs which i don't think are standard?

Just looking for opinion on the best 1st time mods from all you experienced lot. I'm not looking for monster power as i want to keep it everyday driveable and want to mod to replace parts for longevity/quality and gain rather than all out power. Always been a filter and back box person for simple mods. Any recommendations on those?

Anything else people recommend? I've had a number of hot hatches but all were NA so turbos are pretty new to me.

Seen threads on here about an N249 bypass - what does this give you?

Questions, questions, questions..

Thanks in advance for any help! :D

Cheers

Dave

Upgrade the dv and change the standard airbox for a blue jetex cone
You will fall in love with sound :)

Listen to this man, he speaks the truth!

About £150 all in for both pieces, then an extra £10 for a silicone extension to push the filter into the wing a little more. Remove the bonnet quilt for a little extra sound too!

Get a HID kit. I fitted mine on saturday, they cost me around £40 from the bay. They took me around 2hrs to fit and I must say there brilliant, Im so chuffed with them. The car looks alot smarter and modern, but the visibility increase is worth £40 on its own. I went for 6k bulbs with matchng 6k sidelight bulbs. IMO its definitely worth getting matching sidelight bulbs aswell, looks spot on ;)

The standard valve is good for 350 bhp even porsche use them, no need to change the valve unless it is faulty. If a new one is needed they are less than £35 from gsf.
I have my mods index linked in my sig, click my car below.

Lol no offence taken  I'm sure most people can do it quicker. I have a slight ocd issue so choosing were to mount and actually mounting the ballasts was what took most of the time, it was also a very nice day and I was in no particular rush :p

HID's are looking tempting as the standard lights seem pretty weak.
Any back box recommendations? Had a look on YouTube and the Cobra one sounds good but not sure how much you can tell from a vid? Want it louder but not too boomy at motorway speeds?
