I have now owned my lcr (BAM engined) for approx a month now. Love it! Well ive now ran into a problem or two! :(
i done the n246 valve bypass.. soo easy and changed the car loads! Due to someones handywork before me the motor showed up the weakness it had before. The insulation tape on the vac pipe under the inlet mani gave up and also the tape on the breather valve under the mani, sorted these out handy enough, drove gramd for a few days then when some boy in his cooper s :-/ thought he would play the leon decided it wanted to fart, pop and bang all over the place from 3k - 4k then boosted grand again! And now on tickover it will idle ever so slightly above 1k.
Now the car seems to do it when it fancies if that makes any sense?
Anyone any idea on what this could be?
I have done a quick search but i honestly dont have the time with moving house to trawl through a load of posts :(
Thanks in advance :D

No eml light on :-( can get a snap-on diagnostic scanner. Could throw tbat on and see if its begining to log any codes.
what would be the best place to start?

checked all piping and no leaks or nothing loose. finally got it plugged in came up with the codes.
(this was with a snap-on solus pro)

17704 - error in mapped cooling system(check temperature sensor or thermostat)
19534 - throttle control airflow at idle too low ~ p3078
16891 - idle control system RAM higher than expected ~ p0507 intermittent
17544 - fuel trim bank 1 (add) system too lean ~p1136
17863 - exhaust gas temperature sensor 1 (g235) implausible signal ~ p1455 intermittent

I cleared these codes and cleaned the MAF sensor, put a fuel system cleaner through to clean other sensors ect, drove grand for a day then back to its messing about but still no codes coming up or EML light. but it would take its odd turns and run perfect. really cant trust overtaking or nothing now, so itll be a nice light right foot until i get it sorted.
