Put a SPLT R on mate,

Doesn't make loads on noise on mine (sounds like my cat sneezing) But come the new year hopefully the remap and induction kit will change that.

Oh, and it's been on for 3 - 4 months now and no problems.

i have a bov on mine and its been running fine for over a month now

Yeah Cheers Lads, I Most likely will, Its Only 150 quid, see what happens with it

Seems a little silly to buy a performance car and make it go slower fitting a BoV? the problems don;t typically manifest themselves straight away, people then assume all is OK and a few weeks doen the line the cars performance is down etc.

Robdon on here has tried more DV's than I have had hot dinners and although some have been better than others I think he'd probably recommend something like the Forge Split-R over a normal BoV.

Can I take it your car isn't remapped? this will be the the best way to get louder sounds from the car, more boost, more pressure, more intake sounds etc etc

Good cheap mod's also include;-
Dog Bone engine Mount (do it propoerly not just the bushes) try INA
Short shifter for the gear box from Forge or similar
Anti-roll bars
Front Strut Brace (audi S3)

no faults logged??

the problem i have with bovs is when your driving normal/slow when your only tickling the boost the diaphram isnt pushed fully down so its leaking the boost to atmos.

last time i had it scanned for faults it was a problem with the recuirc valve then once the light came it was going into limp mode ..

Fact is you MAF is telling the ECU a certain volume of Air has come into the engine, none of which is vented to the atmosphere under normal circumstances.......effectively with the BOV you are introducing a leak into the system.

The Split-R seems to be a small enough leak not to notice

A generic BoV may work fine, however sooner or later you will have a problem. Fault codes, limp mode etc

I've seen quite a few people try them down the years, they do 'work' but you will have issues at some time down the line

i got a split-r and had it on hybrid for a while. i'm joining the fully recirc band wagon now. its much smoother when the atmospheric nozzle is plugged.
