hi all just posting a new thread to find out which boost gauge i should get id like one that is as close to the dials that are in the car already (standard) and id like the colour of the light as near as the same too!

does anyone know of any good gauges that meet this?

cheers

i think i'm entitled to say having had 2 autogauges myself but autometre is a better gauge imo, yes it's dearer but you tell see the superior quality and reading accuracy. Depends how much you want to spend i.e Defi gauges look superb but are v.expensive ;)

Autometer, in case he goes looking ;)

I got one off ebay pretty cheap and it matches nicely.......doesn't rattle either like the really cheap one I had before.

Auto Meter gauge look lush but theres loads to choose from no idea of price.
There only seems to be one distributor for England and they state its over the counter sale only.

Yes you are correct, there is currently only one UK distibutor and unfortunately because of this the price becomes inflated. The unit itself in the states is half the price and you can get them from ebay.com at that price still but then you get killed on postage, as broad as it is long in the end.

The one you are looking for is the Autometer Phantom http://www.realsteel.co.uk/section8.pdf page 3 of the PDF, middle section Boost 30 Vac 30 = £60.72

Autometer gauges are teh best:p

Seriously, I know they are dearer but they are better built and are more accurate. I had several Autometer gauges (boost, oil pressure, oil temperature and water temp) in my previous car and I just wouldn't trust anything else (apart from some Defi's!!)

I've had both. Auto-Meter from Demon Tweeks and Auto-Gauge from Halfords.
The Auto-Meter was more expensive, I think it was about £70 and is of excellent build
quality and accuracy but I was never completely happy with the way it looked especially
at night when it was just a dull orange glow. The Auto-Gauge was cheap as chips at around £25 iirc,
a great match but not nearly as good quality, although easily good enough to tell
what boost you're running and if ther are any problems imo. I've also tried the Glow-Shift,
the one I had was rubbish. It did'nt zero, it vibrated and just felt cheapo although some
on here love them. I might have just got a bad one.
