bov/dump valve, confused ?

hi. i'm new to the forum and only had my ibiza cupra for a couple of weeks now. i've been a member on toyotagtturbo.com for a while now as i also drive a glanza. now, as we're on the subject od dump valves/blow off valves i have a question. i'm confused about the dump valve situation on these engines. i use a normal bailey bov on my glanza and get a nice wooosh and i want the same on my cupra. i have searched the forum but i still don't fully understand. i know the cupra engine needs a re-circulating dv is that right ? i have a forge one on the car at the moment but you can only just hear the dump. i've been looking for other dv's/bov's for the cupra and i've found this one and i need to know a.will it work with no problems ? and b.will i get a louder wooosh ? here's the one i was looking at -

'SPLIT R'' RECIRCULATING BLOW OFF VALVE FOR VAG 1.8T ENG'S

Product Code: FMDVSPLTR

it won't let me post the pic ?

it says this will work with all vag 1.8t engines but is this correct or will i have problems and will it give me a wooosh like the bailey on my glanza does ?

all replies would be very much appreciated from a clueless new member !

thanks mate. so the forge 'split R' is a definate no no then ? what about the bailey dv30 ? or the 007 ? will they be any louder than the forge one i have on the car now ? also, i can't find anywhere that sells the 007 or the turbosmart one your on about. any idea's ? i just wanna see some pics and prices etc. i have spent a while searching the forum but i'm so used to tgtt.com it's taking a while to get used to this one ! will the turbosmart one be fine in terms of performance of the car etc ?

thanks.

if you get chatter then its too tight, chatter is the turbo stalling and this will cause your turbo life to become very short. you should get a woosh of air through the filter not chatter

Thats the link for the 007P

I bought one of these after looking around the forum

When i fitted it I got no noise until I fitted an indution kit now I get a nice little chatter[/QUOTE]

when you say chatter do you mean it will be a 'pigeon'/tweeting doves' like sound?
im a bit clueless about dump valves as well only had my car since saturday lol

no. chatter is turbo stalling. the whistle your on about is what you get from things like the hks ssqv which if you type into youtube will come up with some sound clips

Well i asked on here when I fitted the filter because I don't want the turbo stall as I know what it does but people were saying it was normal with the 007P after fitting a filter

I always thought it was when the DV was wrong way round but mine is def right way thats why i got confused

Which bit is too tight? Cheers

it depends on your sound. if it sounds like chatter then its the turbo stalling. if it sounds like a constant rush of air then its the dv working.

the spring maybe to stiff. ie being too tight for the air to push the piston up
