any ideas guys, coming to standstill on braking, light or heavy and the pads seem to crunch as in stop biting and lock slightly, doesnt do it all the time. only on drivers side it feels like aswell.. i can feel the noise if you like through the pedal aswell??

Any feedback through the pedal? I got caught out with the ABS in mine recently (never felt it until recently and recently I've been getting what feels like gears crunching through the pedal when the ABS kicks in)

In all honesty, I don't know mate. May not even be the ABS, but it does sound like it. Could just be something in the sensor? Common problem on ABS bikes, I'm sure it can happen on cars as well?

If the pads or disks are still quite new it might be worth taking the wheels off and having a good poke round to make sure everythings still present and where it should be. Also, could something have got stuck between the disk and the caliper like a piece of grit or salt that only catches when in a certain position? I once had a piece of grit stuck on my caliper with tar after a road had been re surfaced. As for the ABS, the best way I've found to describe it is it's like braking on gravel or marbles and the pedal feels as if it's trying to push back a bit, you wonder what the hell is going on the first time it gets you.

Just sounds like the ABS kicking in, mine does the exact same thing, always has done, only happens though if i brake harsh or try to lock the wheels.
It's doing it slightly more so lately too but thats because the treads on my tyres are quite low lol.

I changed my pads on mine an got a clicking an can feel it through the pedal I got mintex ones didn't happen before it's like there a fraction to small an got abit of play in them. Could try changing ur pads again, a guy in work had the same problem with mintex pads

Leon FR ABS

i've got the same problem - just as i'm coming to a stop the abs kicks in - deaelr checked it out but couldn't figure out the problem. No sensors showing a fault. suggested changing the control block but that it pricey!!

any ideas???

Finally got mine fixed - it was a sensor after all but the vagcom didn't pick it up. Sensor must have got damaged in the snow.

I had this on my old golf and felt it once or twice on my Leon but only when coming to a stand still at lights as I had the clutch pressed down.
