OMG Noooooo dont do it

Really like this car, alot of work went into this it would be a shame to see it go.

I already own a house but i would pick a house over a piece of metal any day!

Do what you think is right for you mate but if you do decide to break it i want in on some of your goodies starting with the seat & subframes :D

Be a shame to see this broken :( what a machine, all the hard work etc

You will have to break it imo, i really cant see you making half as much selling it whole

Look at RobbieC for example, no disrespect intended because his car has such a huge spec its worth the every penny, but for someone to come and pay 9k for a cupra i dont think it will happen

Theres plenty of parts i would raid off this anyway lol

OR

Keep it and dont spend anymore money on it :D

I agree, I don't think I could ask for anywhere near what I could get for breaking it.

I won't be able to keep both, the car holds a lot of deposit money I'm afraid, it has to go in order to progress with property.

As for subframes, I don't have any lol. They're welded in!!

It will go, no doubt, but it's a case of when really. I'm not sure if I want to be sitting outside breaking the car up in the rain/ snow....

when my car goes i know ill have to break it, you can get a cupra for £1500 these days and no one will pay over £7k for one even if its had all the top work done to it by top name company's not disrespecting your build quality or your parts in any way its just a sign of the times, all the nice high hp cupra's on here have been broken hooch's, philw's, alex's and a few others its a shame really but you'd get good money if you broke it more than if you sold it whole but then you would have to see all your hard graft unpicked and sold on thats what id do personally

"MAF-less "in title, apologies if stupid question but is this car running no MAF then?

Its just i over heared a guy in a motorist accessory shop yesterday telling a customer that had made some mods to his intake/filters etc.that he didn't need a MAF meter and any faults could be erased out? Just got me thinking about it again seeing the title?

I think breaking is the only way.

In terms of the MAF, yes that's been deleted completely. It's not just a case of getting a fault code erased from the ECU. I've done an ECU transplant from a Bora 1.8T with a wideband lambda conversion, then had all the software custom writting for my build, as opposed to building the car to a spec that a map 'will' work with.

Very long winded way but I know the fuelling is as good as it can be and will adapt well to with the wideband lambda.

I also agree that people will only pay just over market value for a tidy example of any car, no matter what it's had done. Most insurers will also only cover the car for market value so this modifying stuff is really no financial winner. I think I will have to break it later this year :(

So I bought a noise tester to varify if my car was legit for track..... you've guessed it, too loud. Great!

I now have to get myself another silencer welded in before I can go on track. I'm looking to book up Bedford as soon as I've done that and give the car a bit of what she deserves.

So I had an exciting weekend, I had a photoshoot for a magazine :) Haven't seen the pictures yet and I won't until the mag has been published. I don't know the issue of the mag that my car will be in either. When I have more details I'll update you guys.

Also booked up Bedford on the 1st September for my first proper track day, and Castle Combe the weekend after, just for a 15min slot at the Forge day.

Anyone else going?
