I have an LCR with ds2500 pads and grooved discs.
On its debut track day at Snetterton last friday, the car was amazing and keeping up with cars far superior to it; however, my shiney red front brembos have turned brown! I know this is due to the heat, but wondering if anyone knows if it will be the base coat or the laquer that has tinged? If its just the laquer i'll rub them back and re-laquer them:)
Cheers.

instead of stamping on and off the brakes you were probably on them longer then you should of so heated them up, my mates went like that when he was using **** pads as they heated up,

when i did bedford i just stood on them and off again, and mine are ok,

was using ds2500s nev; and pretty aggressive on them; no prolonged braking as was pushing all the braking points as much as possible ;)

mine went brown/purple.

cooked paint.

your caliper dust seals will likely be toasted also and burnt off

Danny, with the pads removed and the callipers off you can get at these no bother. You might even manage with the callipers still on but difficult to clean out all the muck prior to fitting new ones

Haha, they certainly were a beautiful sight on Saturday morning! Mmmmm, brown brembos...

Surely they just need stripping and repainting?

I'm hoping it is just the laquer that has tinged; so a rub back and re-laquer might be all they need - a job for the summer I think! :)

Danny my Brembos are shockingly chipped and faded but not too fussed about how they look.
Infact the look good next to my kurbed alloys, lol

Yup that the babies, I got mine from David at Seremotors.

K, cheers Willie; I know what you mean about not being fussed about how they look - function over form and all that; and by god do they perform well! I'll have a look at the dust seals at some point in the near future :)

There nae cheap either. Canna mind how much they were but was a bit shocked.
I'm going to be redressing mine in the winter time, hopefully.
I'll do a guide on this, might even strip them down to bare metal to allow for better cooling.

But if you know you have track days coming up you can drive like a nun to save fuel for a week or two then the car will have adapted to this then let rip on the track.
Get yourself some Badger 5 2 piece discs, you know you want to;)
