Was talking to Hurdy the other day and recommended a 3.5krpm launch for 2nd gear.

and 2.5krpm for 1st but i guess Al will no whats what.

What gear does he launch in?

Sounds daft, but I dont look at the revs as I do it by ear. I dont let all the power out until the last second of 1st gear. I am sure its approx 3000rpm ish though. I keep meaning to do a "launch" with the clutch to see if it makes a difference, and forgot again today.

Always take it all the way through 1st and have traction control off. I actually crossed the line all out in 4th on the first run. Changing to 5th was tried, and I lost time doing it, so my car is limited by gearing to about 115ish in 4th.

Al, how do you mean "launch with the clutch"?

Hmmm, more tempted to try York out now.

can someone give us a step by step guide as to how this works on the car, and what is happening etc. was chatting with tsi_mike earlier at my gaff and neither of us were 100% sure on exactly how it worked

launch control ~ push clutch to floor followed by throttle to the floor, this will initiate the WOT BOX to cut ignition at a preset RPM (4000rpm ish for me), keeping the throttle to the floor you need to ping clutch and off you go.

WOT shift ~ when on the move and you want to change gear keep throttle to floor, press clutch, change gear, ping clutch, doing this as fast as possible saves time and prevent the turbo from spool drop as you are still on wide open throttle. When you press the clutch it initiates an ignition cut for a chosen time to allow you to change gear smoothly

hope this makes sense

that must feel really strange. especially after you have been using it and switch it off and vice versa

How much difference does it make. It seems like a sort of anti lag device like on the old cosworth rally cars etc, however they used to destroy the life of the turbos

Does the decat ever give you engine management light owen
does on my apr software. Was a good performance mod though :)
made a good difference. I can clear the light with my cruise controls with apr
map but it's getting annoying

Mike what fault code does it throw up?

Is it P0420 Catalyst below efficiency threshold?

If so, I think you maybe need to go and make sure you have the correct file on, which include's "Test Pipe's" I have it on very good authority mate that with APR software with correct file loaded you should be able to run a Decat pipe with no issue's. I know your thinking of changing software but if you get chance to get it checked out it could make you a little happier in the short term.

Sorry Owen, back to topic ;-)
