Can't find charging schedule....

Hi, just purchased 2024 1.5 FR e-hybrid but I'm having trouble setting up a charging schedule. I've read the manuals, watched videos, searched the web, sked the dealer etc. but the option to set up a departure time etc. just doesn't seem to be there.

I've set myself up as the primary user, connected with My Seat, and I know where the settings should be, both in the app and in the infotainment system, but they are just not there. I've checked the services list, and things called Dynamic Charging, and e-manager are flagged as activated. I've installed the latest updates for apps.

The dealer has been next to useless helping with this, I'm wondering if anyone on here can help.

Just an update, see attached photos showing what I think are the relevant screens from the infotainment screen and My Seat.

Dear Paul,

I have exactly the same problem. I live in Portugal and bought a Leon ST 2024 (FR e-hybrid) and was convinced that either through the app or through the infotainment system it would be possible to schedule the charging sessions. That does not seem to be possible with the current version of the app and dashboard. I guess it was removed.

BR
Luis

P.S.: My screen is exactly like the one in your picture.

Thanks Ludwig, I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I've raised the problem with Seat Customer Care who are looking into it. I hope (fingers crossed) that it an old version of the software that has not been updated. I've done the updates for the individual apps, but maybe it's the underlying firmware. I'll keep the thread updated

Just an update. Rereading the manual, I note that charging schedules are stored per "charging location". But I can find no way of setting the charging location.... On the equivalent VW software, there is a location tab on the charging screen, but there is nothing like that in the Seat manual.

Nearly the end of the week and still no resolution from the dealer, Seat customer care or Seat Digital in Spain. Im reluctant to restore system settings just in case one or other of the support teams needs more data. Getting frustrated now

Just taken delivery of my new plug in Formentor. Was hoping to not have to install a box but reading comments online it looks like scheduling is not going to be available until later in 2025. Absolutely gutted

Just bought a Seat Leon FR PHEV and had exactly the same question.
Not great but at least I know it's not just me and I'm not missing some function I haven't found yet.

I've also just got a new SEAT Leon e-hybrid PHEV (25 plate) and it is missing the charging schedule. I thought I would revive this thread to ask if anyone has yet taken delivery of a SEAT Leon PHEV with the correct software (with Schedule Charging)? Or has anyone yet had their software updated? Would be useful to know when the repaired software has appeared, so we can start hassling dealers to install the update. I read somewhere that September was mentioned, so maybe soon.

I was at the dealer this week and they know nothing about a forthcoming software update. I reminded them of the issue, the forecast date of third quarter, but they didn't seem to care or be worried about it.

As my last car was a Skoda, I'm still on the Briskoda forum. and posted on this thread (and linked to @Paul Strickland 's other related thread on here) as it seems people with the 1.5 PHEV powertrain in the Skoda Superb have the same problem. There's also a post from someone with a Golf which also has the same problem.
So the problem isn't just confined to SEAT/Cupra cars. I'm not sure that's much comfort though.

The VW Golf GTE and the VW PHEV Tiguan both had the same problem, but their updated software was available from the middle of July. (https://www.speakev.com/threads/202...ng.189528/page-3?post_id=3803791#post-3803791).

I assume the software on all the new VW/Skoda/SEAT/Cupra PHEVs is basically the same, just with a few bespoke interfaces for the different cars. So surely all the VW brands' software engineers work together, and should each be able to produce updated software at about the same time. But I'm not sure if they share infrastructure for hosting software updates; if they do, maybe they're not able to handle all the potential demand so are staggering release, prioritising VW.

Latest news from Seat Connect in Spain. Don't hold your breath....

We hope this email finds you well. We understand your concerns regarding the delivery of the missing functionality and the timeline provided. Unfortunately, we do not have specific updates on the progress of the software update at this moment. We recommend keeping in touch with your dealer for the latest information or contacting the right department, as they may receive updates directly regarding planned software releases.

I also contacted SEAT in Spain to keep the issue alive, and to point out VW had updated the software. They are kicking the issue back to Cupra SEAT support. This is SEAT connect's reply:

Thank you for contacting us.We truly regret to hear you encountering difficulties with our technology and we sincerely apologies for the inconveniences caused.

For all your charging queries please reach out to

[email protected]

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

I will be contacting them today to keep the issue alive. I think I read that the newest Cupra PHEVs now have the updated software.

I would encourage everyone affected contacts [email protected] to ensure SEAT doesn't ignore the issue and prioritises a solution.

I also escalated the issue again, to the CEO of Volkswagen!!!!! Got a polite reply saying that "due to the nature of his role" he doesn't deal personally with individual problems. But, he passed the issue down the line, and someone from the SEAT executive office called me. They are trying to chase the issue down,, but he did suggest that the end of the year was a more realistic target. They are due to ring me again tomorrow. More news if I get it

Thanks for that update Paul. Nice one!

If they do call, you might like to point out that VW PHEVs and Cupra PHEVs have now both solved the issue, so shouldn't be hard for SEAT to also solve it.

I don't know if this is related, but my Leon charges more slowly than the advertised speeds.

The brochure talked about 11kW AC and 50 kW DC charging speeds, but
  • for AC charging on my 7kW wall box and also a public 7kW charger, the car won't charge faster than around 4.5kW (even though one of the boxes under the bonnet with the orange wiring is clearly labelled 11kW, so I'm suspecting software rather than hardware)
  • for DC charging the 2 places I've tried to charge it, I've never seen better than 30kW and sometimes a lot less
But I'm wondering if this is just a fault in my car or whether all of us with the 1.5 PHEV powertrain in a Seat/Cupra are getting the same slow speeds?

If the latter I'm hoping this rumoured software update might fix it...
