hahaha look like i upset a few ppl here lol
i was think about the 1.9tdi cos it's only group 5 which is good but the good thing about 1.4 group 4 and cheaper tax but i would love to have lil bit more power to play with.

one more thing i would like to ask the tdi owners whats it like on cold morning starts been told it would struggle startin
It would struggle starting in the cold?? Nope. Just need to give it 2 secs of the glow plugs to do their job and then off you go. In the winter it does chug a bit more when cold, but once on the move it's fine.
I've got the 130Sport (03 reg) and it's a great car. From the sound of it you will be going for the 100bhp version? I test drove a few of them and it's also a nippy enough car, is cheap to insure and very economical. I regularly get >55mpg out of mine, and I think the 100bhp version is good for a few more on top.
Have you test driven either? I would say that after a test drive of both back to back your mind would be made up!

Brought the wife a 1.4 (100bhp) DAB special earlier this year and its sounds great when being revved, not to mention a whole lot of fun!
We looked at the diesel and drove both but didnt see point of extra £1500 for diesel when she only does less than 10,000 miles a year, along with the extra service costs!

I was amazed but its a group 4 same as 75bhp model!
Its difficult to get the performance figures for this model but they can be found here

it will sound even better with an Fr exhaust and no middle silencer lol well it did on the 75ps version

Don't tar us all with the same brush. I personally love both engines and would prefer the 1.8T but the tax and running costs are so much less in comparison and I hate to say it, but the TDI is the more reliable lump.

My brother has the 1.4 100bhp petrol and my mate has the 1.9 100bhp tdi so I'll give you my opinion, the petrol sounds pretty good, fuel economy isn't bad and is pretty nippy. The diesel feels a lot faster, though obviously doesn't sound as good.
If they were both the same price then it'd be a no brainer, get the diesel, if you're intending on modifying i.e remapping, or you do high miles, again get the diesel, if not I would be inclined to get the petrol, I don't know if I could justify the extra cost buying the diesel.

i do i lot of mile tot work and back and i go blackpool alot so i think it would save me at lot i was wondering if i got it remapped could you tell but looking stupid question i know but can they test out of it as in police and insure
im sorry but a 1.8t lump is an exstremy reliable engine only the water pump and turbo bolts coming loose are a possible fault! im performance mad at the end of the day and diesel s for saving money not for performance power and il never change my opinion!Similar threads
