Right I'm trying to work out the mess of wiring in the Ibiza just now. I've made a little digram of how the amp that was in the car when I bought it was wired(Power and Ground were there too)

Does this make sense? I haven't seen a speaker input plug on an amp before I thought they had to run RCAs or is it just better to run RCAs? I assume because nothing was connected to the speaker output of the amp there was 6x9s or a sub connected before?

This is the speaker input plug

And the control from the CD Changer I assume

So if I wanted to run amped components on the front, I can run the same power, ground and control and hide the amp under the passenger seat. Then I can splice into the front speaker wiring the same way or I should I do away with that all together and run an RCA low converter from the HU and then into the amp?

Also anyone know what the hell this is? Found it behind the HU.

Sorry for the long shpeil, I am clueless with anything to do with wiring.

I did some digging on t'internet and the amp has it's own built in signal converter so you take the normal speaker speaker wires from the HU and send them directly to the amp so no need for the RCA converter and RCA cables if you are running standard HU like me. So the guys spliced out of the rear speaker cables as his speaker input and then had a sub or something connected to the speaker outs of the amp?

The 3rd picture down is the wire that was connected to the amp remote. It would make sense that the CD Changer would have its own remote wire from the HU? So the guys spliced from that?

I don't know what the box behind the HU is, I keep finding random disconnected plugs and wires in this car haha.

Im sure You'd still nees rcas tho

Long time since ive fitted amps etc But

To run a sub it would defo need rca and the convert box

The ones i used to where made by celsus ice think the part number was lc2a iirc

Speaker out would be power full enough for sub.
Has it got a power and earth going to it?

For it to amp the speakers think iirc

Oe wire should go into the amp and new wires go from the amp to speakers

Seems as you amp is just attached to the speakers rather than amping them lol

Cant get my head around the pic lol

Yeah, I did a bit of reading, there are RCA inputs on the amp but some folk on audio forums were saying because the OE headunit already has balanced speaker outputs theres no need to run RCAs if you can run from speaker line level.

It was way confusing looking at it at first, there's so many lengths of multicoloured wire in the boot...being colour blind doesn't help I guess hahah.
