Thing is theres no way you can mistake a coilpack failure for anything else
There obviously is because the only fault code i was getting for months was 'System too lean' but it was running alright and that could be loads of things! It was only when the misfire codes came i knew it was probably them and that was only about a week ago
Well today i replaced all my spark plugs with the iridium ik22 ones and noticed a splitting hose too..
After replacing all that my car is so so much better and im really happy with it.. Seems like im not needing new coilpacks yay
Is not as quick as it was when mapped (i dont think lol) but that might be because i replaced the 4mm vacuum hose with a 3mm one today as thats all i had ??
Will be picking up a new 4mm hose soon so will hopefully be back to full power..
Am so happy with it though as its been poorly for months.. Was so pleased i even cleaned it

Thats great news! Something so small can cause all those problems making you think its something SO much bigger than it is, you know?

In the last month i have also had the MAF and the lambda replaced.. Car was in limp mode with the warning lights on when it went in for its service and thats what they relaced...
Spent quite a lot in it in the last month or so
Was wicked driving along today being able to put my foot down again though
Yeah well thats what i thought, but i have only just had a new MAF and this has been coming on and off for months! I also have had a new N75
Like i said, EVERYTHING has been looked at and not once did anything suggest the coilpacks until about a week ago, now all the codes have gone so it must have been them starting to go

aint it annoying........as soon as you think your car's running mint, something needs replacing.lol

It all just comes at once
ha ha was convinced it was a lot of things expecially when it wasnt boosting right (another split hose that time lol).. oh and i forgot to mention my clutch pedal also snapped this month.. luckily i fixed that for free

Well hopefully now we all have working cars we might have a few months of trouble free motoring
ive got a slight problem starting to show its face at he mo.......
vag com'd it and nothing seems to point at anything yet. its behaving a bit odd the last couple of days with a bit of pulling back and them going again so it could be pointing me to a coilpack??
the next car i get will have a carb!!! lol
I would suggest a MAF sooner would of cured your system to lean fault. Until you had your coilpack failure with misfire detected on cylinder 1 and 3 then obviously the coilpacks were at fault.
As said, starting to go? They are purely electrical units and perform an electrical function. It will either do it, or not.

It could be anything! It really could, this is the problem i have found, so many things
Yeah but i had a new MAF put on and i was still getting that fault code, thats the point! I have also heard as you say that coilpacks just go, but perhaps it was the spark plugs that was the initial problem, then the coilpacks 'just went'
Who knows? It doesnt matter now as its all sorted so role on the special treat i have in store for her
