Carbon wrapping

Looks spot on mate, i had a go at doing my interior door handles and got p****d off with it after a while, i must admit i was using the cheap ebay stuff and found it hard work to work with. How long did it take you to do your stereo fascia??

Was that with all the buttons etc still intact. I found the cheaper stuff didnt like to mould aroud the curves on the door handles, perhaps i needed more heat, but inwas pushed for time when i did it. Perhaps i need to sit down on a sunday and take a fair bit of time doing it.

Well I first intended on taking the buttons out by realised what a mission that was! So I carefully cut around them! You wouldn't know though :) with enough heat it defines the buttons to show where they are to cut around them! The handles were tricky but again, heat and patience! :) couldn't fault the wrap!..

I want to do this as well in gloss black. I started on it, and then realized how stupidly hard it is to remove the flippin panels! I want to do the radio panel and air conditioning panel (in the Leon). And then I will slowly move onto the dash...but that's a more major operation.

Any tips? What tools did you use? I used a razor blade last time, but should I get a scalpel with a fine point? Also, how did you make sure that the vinyl followed the holes around the buttons neatly, how do you know where to cut? :S

It's hard to explain :( when you heat it up.. Run your nail gently down the line between the button and the fascia.. Making a crease Line.. Then run your blade down this line but closer to the buttons.. Trial and error with a smaller Piece over a small
Section of buttons or
Something first.. Because I did it out of one whole piece, you don't want to be messing the last few cuts up! Lol..
I used a scalpel or three.. Keep it as sharp as you can!!

Urmm I don't actually know.. I nabbed mine from work haha.. Shouldn't be hard to get hold of though.. Hardware or crafts shop?? Let me know how you get on or if you need any interweb help!! Lol :)

Currently doing a full 3m di-noc c424 that's brown. only at the strip stage atm really easy to do.

Essential you must use a heat gun
