Guys is there any manual for the changes the Carista app can do?

As far as I am aware no - it's just suck it and see at the moment. That said, the Carista interface is very user friendly and you don't have to be a brain surgeon to work it out. But, as has been said, not all functions currently work.

Given FR's experience I can understand that - but there are those whose cars live on the street who will fold the mirrors in every day anyway - so they must be designed to expect that sort of useage.

But I may have egg on my face if my mirrors give trouble (but so far, so good)!
:)
Yeah, thats just me :) if they didnt showbl me that option, i would probably not ask for it. But now that i onow about it... :)

Hi All,
Just got my Carista obd2 :)
And I have few questions:
1. can someone guide me to where I can find the auto stop/start ?
2. "Allow configuration open/close windows with remote via MMI" - what is that ?
3.folding mirrors is it only via long pres or also click? if click can it be double click ?
4.where is the auto close windows when raining ?
5.what will give me developer menu ?
6. "Display cylinder shut-off" - what is that ?
7. is it possible to disable beep alarm for seat belts? for when opening door ?

Thanks,
Asaf.

Quiksilver, sorry but I am thinking that you do not seem to have worked out exactly what you are doing with Carista, as has been said already, it is very easy to use especially for someone that knows nothing about re-programming car modules, so you should not mess your car up by doing something that you know nothing about - unless you know how to reverse any of these changes which, at the moment might have not been fully de-bugged.

I managed to hold the 'broken' mirror in place whilst they were folding out. A loud 'crack' sound and all is working again as it should. Somehow must have slipped passed an inbuilt plastic stop or something.

1) There is a button in front of the gearlever to enable/disable this feature
2) Under Car Options - the MMI (man-machine-interface) (from the menu on the dashboard display) you can enable or disable various features. With Carista you can include some specific options - like mirror folding in the list of features you can enable/disable. So, for example, if you enable folding mirrors via long press in Carista, you enable or disable this feature via the dashboard display if you allow the MMI configuration option as well
3) As has been said short click doesn't (didn't) work but long click does. Haven't tried double click
4) That was in the same list of options in Carista - has it disappeared?
5) What is that?
6) Again not seen that as an option - but cylinder shut off is Ecotsi feature where when running on light throttle only the two outer cylinders are active. The multi-function display (between the speedo and rev counter) can display when this is active. Presumably the display associated with this feature can be suppressed.
7) Dunno

I assume you are using a later version of Carista - I see that Beta 3.3 is now available, but I have only used a couple of releases of 3.2

Hi,
Thanks for you reply.
Regarding the auto start/stop, Carista sent an e-mail saying they have this option now(for disabling for good).
Regarding question number 4 - I only see "auto close sunroof when it is raining", no mention for windows...
Regarding 5 -

Thanks.

Just tried Beta 3.3 and now autofold mirrors on long press does work (on my car at least).

There were a few more options to try too, beeps and warnings particularly and an accleration display - none particularly appealed to me, so I didn't try them - but might to others.

One option which I would have liked but didn't work was auto angling down of the nearside mirror when in reverse.

Nothing special - just selected the autofold option and ticked the box that said long press. I did also tick the box which enabled autofolding in the MMI (ie via the car options display). However the screen option only specifies auto folding on or off - not long or short press. I only tried long press once and then reverted to short press after checking that it didn't work on short press if long press was selected.

I would add that I didn't try the long/short press option previously with Beta 3.2 - you said it didn't work, and I was happy with short press. So it may be a difference between our two cars. For what it's worth mine's a 1.4 Ecotsi FR ST made around June time this year.

V3.3 has been released now - just checked on mine and the only option I have for mirrors is "auto fold". Where do you specify long or short press?

Unless they were warning about, to make sure that you did testing then revert to original right away, I'd say that they are chancing things a bit and causing trouble! This is the very reason why after initially emailing them when I had logged fault codes that had wrong descriptions, I then added my name for Beta testing - then started to find reports of too many people having issues with Beta testing and having a lot of difficulty reversing things, so I just use it for fault code reading and work the long way using VCDS. I'm sure that they will improve their way of doing things, even VCDS have the very odd problem, but they man up and sort things out quickly.

Edit:- the problem is from where my way of thinking is is, this tool is more aimed at people that are not technically smart, so anyone can grab it and use the menu to quickly make changes, okay when things have been tested properly - a nasty mess when they have not been tested properly. VCDS on the other hand needs you to be able to understand what and why you are doing that!

I have a DSG and it worked fine.

Not tried it on DSG but on the auto I have, the engine cuts whenever I come to a halt with the brakes on. In heavy traffic - such as entering a busy roundabout - when you inch forward the engine cuts out, then cuts in again etc etc. Drove me nuts at times. It was switchable though and I've got into the habit of slipping into neutral (not a usual thing to do with an auto) when I know it will irritate.

With the manual Ibiza it only cuts out when you select neutral. So it doesn't intrude in heavy traffic, but cuts in at a longer stop - say traffic lights when you slip it into neutral.

Yep, completely agree. I turn it off every time i drive because it takes too long to start. On manual as soon as you press the clutch it starts. So by the time you engage first, yiu are ready to go. It feels more natural. On the dsg it starts once you depress the break, but its not ready since i am immediatelly on the accelerator.
