Now got 3.4.1 beta 1 And...

You can now enable park sensor visualisation. If you have parking sensors (and possibly if you have the Nav display - not sure if that is required, but I have it) you can enable a graphical display in reverse which shows you how close you are to which of the 4 sensors. It's fairly coarse, but still useful.

I only have experience of Bluetooth using the cheapest ELM327 adapter I could find on eBay. Works absolutely fine with no issues whatsoever with Carista. Mine has the name Vgate Scan on it (FWIW). About £4 on eBay for the same item.

So how does this work? For example, if you are in the radio menu (or phone etc) and you put in the reverse gear, the graphical display just pops up on the screen or you have to be in a specific menu (car menu for example)?

I have a 2016 FR 1.0 EcoTSI but mine came with the 5'' display without Nav and etc.

Yes, put it in reverse and the display appears. It has graphic of the rear of the car and associated with each of the 4 reversing sensors are (I think) 4 segments - which illuminate depending on the distance from an object, the inner most one being red.

That said, I don't know whether it will work without Nav - but it's certainly worth a try. It may not be as good as a reversing camera but it's a definite step up from the beeps alone.

My wife's August 2015 Polo SEL has the front and rear parking sensors as standard, but no navigation, and the visualisation works as described above, so in theory it should work for the latest Ibiza without navigation fitted.

Though, on the flip side, my February 2011 Audi S4 only has rear parking sensors, and to get the visualisation to work (along with front sensors fitting) needs quite a lot of work doing.

As they say "suck it and see".

Edit:- sorry for posting a "yes you can" - "no you can't" - "maybe you can" reply!

The thing is that I don't think my rear parking sensors are standard because they were fitted by my dealer as a ''gift''. However, the beep sound comes from the car speakers so I guess that there is a connection with the CANBUS somehow. Anyway, I'll be getting the OBD2 adapter soon so I'll give it a try.

Thanks for your replies!

I didn't think any of the cars in the range (or other vw audi superminis) had memory seats. Perhaps something from larger VW audi cars.

To bad though. For me this is the most usefull mod by far you could make. I live in urban area with heavy traffic so I need to park very close to the pavement. I have to lower the passenger mirror manually very often in order to do this.
