Just had CC Phase 1 finished off at JBS yesterday afternoon as James had to make a few final tweaks and it has just made 315.9 bhp @ 6761rpm, and still had 256 foot pounds of torque @ 6761rpm. It was ran as standard and made 250.5bhp it is running a low boost setting so it is not pushing the car too hard in the respects of boost, i do have a printout but don’t have a scanner AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR! I had it ran a Nobel the other week, before completion and it made 288bhp on the second run as it wasn’t there usual operator and he didn’t believe the first set of figures. I will take it back there as soon as i get time so we can get a good comparison. Dyno lottery and all! But i will say this I seen the car make 250.5bhp as standard and then 315.9bhp after the map with my own eyes. Looking forward to phase2 but I need more supporting mods exhaust etc

They are great figures![B)] When you get a chance, please tell us all what the Cupra is like to drive with that kind of hike in power. How has it transformed the driving experience?

Powerful you can really feel the power all the way thought the rev range
In regards to laying the power down I can honestly say that that’s not an issue don’t get me wrong if you shift from 2nd to 3rd hard you can get the traction control light flick on but from a standing start all the way through the box there is no torque steer.
So for 315.9 bhp that the car is pushing at the moment the chassis just laps up the power and put it down on the road without any issues and from a standing start it makes 4wd cars think twice don’t get me wrong 4wd is the dogs from a standing start but for a car with amount of power that it has, and to lay the power down so smoothly it is a credit to the car designers and JBS ( CC ) who have done the map.

Just cant wait to start modding for Phase 2

I dont think there is much to be had from extra mods mate!

Meant to say release a few more pounds by reducing the back pressure in the exhaust or allowing the turbo to spool up a little faster.

It needs a full system on it, not only because i not a great lover of the seat sound exhaust system but like Pummy said to get a better torque result get a updated DV and then have Phase 2 CC up the boost and see what it gets.
Realistically cant see BHP being pushed up much more on standard turbo etc but should be able to get a nice torque curve, will just have to wait and see.

Only thing that's pissin me off is it's such a nightmare gettin parts for it could get exhaust custom made but it is finding time to sort it out.

Im sure Milltek should have an exhaust very soon! You can see if the S3 one fits. it seems full exhausts dont add a hell of alot to these engines though. maybe better torque curve yes, but seeing as the milltek costs a grand im not sure it was worth it myself.
a new DV won't really give any extra power, maybe throttle resonse would be improved.
You may get a slight gain from an induction kit though.
Regarding an intercooler, the the S3 already has a larger type than the K03 based BWA so we would assume the Cupra has the same larger one, although you may benefit from a forge twintercooler

Hopefully Milltek will sort one out if not can get JBS to sort it
In regards to DV it would make very little difference on its own but it would allow me to up the boost as i know on the old 20v T the standard DV was sh*t as soon as you upped the boost it just wasn’t up to the job, induction kit i'm always at 6's and 7's in regards to these never had one on my mk 4 cupra but there is a German guy near me who is a complete speed freak and deals in K&N filters etc he put one on my old Scooby and it sounded mint, I guess it's the old MAF issue that makes me a bit weary? it's defiantly something to bear in mind as it is quite a cheep mod.

I would have thought a few things would up the torque. One being an efficient intercooler. Bar and plate type core with wide radius bends. Induction kit assuming no heatsink issues. Maybe a larger bore downpipe so spool up time is reduced. Also looking at the inlet tract to see if any kits are out there that increase the VE pre inlet, post intercooler. I am not a vag engine man so some of there points may not be relevant. Just taking some lessons learnt on my old turbo and applying then here. The basis being best bang for buck after a remap.

The DV's on these engines work in a completely different way to the older 1.8T's and there is no replacement at the moment for the cupra engine.

The main reason i got the induction kit was for the sound, depends if your into that kind of thing really :) Nut it has shown to add a slight bit of hp and throttle response. I dont really think the MAF issue is a worry,. I have the neuspeed P-flo which was under £200, and worth it I think!

Forge are making a replacement I believe, the reason that i want a replacement one is that one of the guys on here with the new S3 cranked up the boost and said that it started to flutter and I prefer to keep on the side of caution if I can  also I’m not completely sold on the forge twin intercooler for the money it cost just looks like an expensive piece of kit, just to give you more places to generate leaks from, and as it sits at present induction tems seem to be fine.

The neuspeed P-flo what are you feelings on that any good ?

I have the twintercooler, and it seems pretty good, it defo keeps the temps down. But I belive I have a slightl smaller FMIC than you.

I have no regrets about the neuspeed p-flo, as I said, I really like the noise it gives :D

So you have the Forge twintercooler, was you having a problem with inlet temps ? if you was what BHP was you running if you dont mind me askin

I wanted to max out the pwoer from this engine so have pretty every perofrmance mod including the twintercooler. Im not sure of the HP but it is believed to be around 270-280. trackdays being one reason for the Twintercooler As I constantly want maximum power. I do have a RR reading of 289hp but I dont believe that one bit.

:thumbup:good stuff, what about exhaust ? and suspension have you done those yet ? It would have been nice to see some before and after logs on the inlet temps to see if it has made much of a difference ( not saying that it hasn’t )

Yes ive done everything mate :D..
Revo Stage 2
Forge TWINtercooler
Milltek full exhaust,
Neuspeed P-Flo,
Forge Shortshifter,
Eibach Pro-Street-S Coilovers,
H&R Front and rear ARB's,
Powerflex engine bush,
AP Racing 6 piston 330mm Big Brakes.
And gonna get the New forge DV when it comes out, hopefully this week :D(as my DV has split before!)

Forge have some logs on there product page for the twintercooler (bearing in mind thats the slightly slimmer intercooler from the BWA engine - Golf GTi, A3 TFSI ,Leon Sport/FR TFSI).

:-o :cartman: You have been busy nice one, how do you find the Eibach Pro-Street-S Coilovers, I’ve been looking at them for a while and where did you have it RR at ? do you know what transmission losses they quoted you ??
