Not sure if this is the right place for this post, but I couldn't find anywhere better.

Basically, I've just cleaned my cone air filter and so I need to re-oil it.

I was just wondering what oil people use (And where they get it)?
Some people suggest WD40?

I bought some K&N air filter oil spray but its bright red like spray paint and my filter is blue, so I don't really want to use that.

I'm aware of the dangers to the MAF if you over oil the filter.

What oil do you use when cleaning your filter?

Thanks
Ben

I have a dynatwinst green filter witch I clean with pressure-air ocatinally from time to time. I also bought a grenn filter cleaning kit with a clear oil you´re supposed to spray the filter with after cleaning but never used it, afraid of messing up the maf sensor.

Thanks Prebs

Yeah I know the oil can mess with the MAF which is why I want to know which is the correct one to use, and also I'll make sure I don't use much. But I believe that if you don't use any at all then the fine dust can get through the filter which obviously isn't good for the engine.

Thanks

just use green's or K&N's oil... after washing and drying
lightly apply spray enough to just colourise the filter
if in doubt, blot the filter out with kitchen towell to remove any excess if there has been over zealous application

When the filters are cheap, new is also an option.
