cleaning throttle housing

hi guys in=m in the middle off spraying inlet manifold and i want to do throttle body housing same but wanting to throttle housing off to clean propaly i no its 4 bolt to take off and 2 plugs ect just want to no what to look out for taking this off ect touching inside clean throttle housing any you guys done this and could greatly help that will be great as ive done my rocker just wanting mani done now many thanks . dave

Use Iso-Propyl to clean the inside of the TB can also use this on your Maf too. IMO you would do yourself a favor if you changed the gaskets while its all off, dont forget you might need to re-align the throttle body once removed.

Im not sure if this is any good to you but I was reading up on this at work as I want to clean my TB soon too as it has a very lumpy Idle. It wasn't the MAF as I cleaned it recently and the idle is still pretty rough.

Its a 20v engine just like mine so I think its pretty good. Some guys on there say that the alignment isn't important as it sorts itself out after 15-20 miles of driving.

Along the lines of what fl@pper has said before the TB will need to be re-alined properly with vag-com after for the dbw system if your going to be taking off the TB and moving the internals about by hand...

So i would tend to agree with his advice.

dude. my laptop is naffed so i cant plug it in to align it for you. as you will defo need to do that! i know how but need vagcom.

i dont want to clean inside ive unbolted inlet manni umpteen times now and un cliped plugs just want to unbolt throttle housing from manni to clean up the outside of housing and maybe paint it. any help would be gratefull

lol it better mate lol. nah try and sort it for me pal as i need it now got all resistors in place now and still engine managment light is on

so when she comes over ry no rudies and sort my laptop out lol
