climate control

I`ve bought another climate control unit as the lcd screen on mine has bled in , has anyone had one fitted if so how much ? . At the moment I have`nt got the time ( OR THE PATIENCE ) to attempt it myself

Out of interest how much did it set you back?, I don't think they are that hard to swap out. I'm sure I seen a guide for it.

Never done it but I should think it's only a 15minute job mate. (I removed the one in my Golf MK4 so would imagine it's pretty much the same). Remove the fascia then IIRC there are torx drive screws either side that hold the climate unit in. Slide it out and unplug it, it really was easy.

I paid £58 on ebay , I was bidding on one b4 that and it went for about £80 . I`ve been struggling to find one locally , the only one was £75

Open the ash tray and there's a screw at the top. Then when you take the ash tray out there's two screws behind it. Then pull the HU out and remove the two screws you see at the sides. Then the front facia comes off the clips. The air con control is then screwed in with 2 screws.

Thats a good price, even £80 would have been cheap. They are at least a couple of hundred new I think.

My problem is I work 12 hr nights , and on my days off I look after my 2 yr old son so not much spare time . I`ll get a few quotes & if it`s silly money I`ll have a try myself
