What a ******* i'm about 25 miles from home on my todd pottering around and just about to pull out of car park and my clutch medal slammed straight forward car jumped into the middle of road (luckily noone there!) went to have a look and the crappy weld has broken allowing the plastic gromit thing holding the clutch cable to pedal to pop out [:@] gawd i was mad! just done a search anyway and it seems to be a common problem. My advise is fopr peeps who have not had this problem to put a few more tacks of weld to save heartache! rant over.

Mine went a week today, was back on the road by wednesday, not the hardest thing in the world to fix just quite fidderly to get the return spring back in! i got a few white plastic clips spare if you need one mate, only trouble being is the postal strike so would proberly be quicker to get one from the dealership.

Only 56p and a couple hours of your time so its not all bad thats assuming you know somebody that can weld it up for you? ;)

Thanks for the offer, but managed to fix it yesterday welded it up properly although my welding is to be admired (looks turd) but will hopefuly do the job think i'll order a new pedal just for peace of mind.

Just had this, unfortunately i dont know anyone that can weld for cheap so took it to the main dealers.

Had no end of issues, firstly cost me silly amounts of money for a new pedal box and clutch cable, once sorted i got the car and the EPC light was constantley on, took it back to get sorted.

The other day i was trying to fit some fog lights, looking under the dash at the fuses and wiring when i notice two bolts hanging underneath where the pedal box is connected to the car. I have tightened them but need to ring and complain about it.

i managed to keep the cable as that was ok just removed the pedal assembly and weld the plate on the front of the box back on. Its a poorly designed rig and seat should reconise this and recall and refit the pedals to a better standard.

Went on mine in the middle of the Trafford Centre carpark in the middle of winter with all the christmas shoppers about! Not one person helped me push it to one side! B`"^&*D's!!
