Only problem is as you can see the paint match is rubbish with both. I used halfords flash red paint as when i c/c my fiesta it was spot on. Do you think its the paint thats at fault? If so where can i get some decent matching paint?

Cheers

Depends, I think some of the early mk4's might have been Flash red.

Best bet would be to check the colour code, LP3G is flash red and LS3H is emocion red. It'll be printed on the sticker under the boot carpet.

Additionally, my car is Flash red, and when I got some paint there were 3 shades to choose from. lol.

it is flash red and I used flash red tin from halfords. Just wondered if anyone who had done it themselves before experienced this.

Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and see if the stealer has some paint that will actually match.

Its pretty damn annoying as the finish on them thereselves is pretty good just the colour match thats the issue.

3 shades of flash red? how did that work? and how do u differentiate between?

The first time I colour coded my bumpers, I got the paint from a local car parts place, I asked them for Flash Red LP3G and they said ok and mixed it up.

I sprayed it on the car and actually had the opposite problem, it was too orangy, where as yours looks like it's too dark.

Second time round I went to a different place that was more of a specialist in car paints, asked for LP3G and they said which version. I hadn't a clue as in the previous place they only did one version, so they gave me the colour card things and I had to go out and match them to the paint.

Apparently the different versions of flash red is to do with VW having a version of their own, and then SEAT creating another version.:ban: Pity they couldn't have used different codes, would have made life much simpler, but then nothings ever as simple as it seems with SEAT lol. Part of the fun or owning the car!

Paint will always vary slightly from car to car. My car has about 4-5 shades. Also if your car is a few years old the colour may have changed slightly.

Best thing to do is go to Seat or a paint shop and get a colour chart off them to match to your car in the sun. I never trust Halfords colours
