cordoba vs ibiza

just got my 4th cordoba ..... a 1999 2.0 16 valve...

i am looking to uprate the suspension, engine and brakes and after reading the forums it seems i can use ibiza parts.

I assume ibiza's from the same year?

Are all parts compatible? and straight swaps?

I am looking for rear axle, brake calipers front and rear.... the bigger the better,
strut braces and engine mods..... please help as cordoba parts are so rare.

Are there still cordoba owners on here?
Just picked up a TDi bog standard bit ruff round the edges but nothing too hard to fix.
Where these tdi's 90 bhp? I had a leon tdi a that had 90 bhp but this feels much faster and the noise of the turbo is pretty loud :).

Needs lowerd and nice alloys on it first of all then see where it takes me

Tryed to post a pic but can't as I don't have 15 posts!!

Yes mines still going. It's in the restoration thread. It has kept me busy this last 5 years in which I've only put 17000 miles on it. I've owned a v6 mondeo, leon 110 bhp tdi and an 1.8t audi a6 in that time also and the car has been off the road at times as it wasn't needed but just come to part with it. It has been a demanding car to maintain, note: not that difficult, but is cool looking, has character and is cheap to run with loads of tuning potential which appeals to me.

Some of the engine mounts and front suspension components and brakes are interchangeable. mk2 golf front cross beam that the engine mount sits on. Mk1 golf rear anti-roll bar fits. mk3 golf VR6 brakes but the extra 8mm in diameter isn't worth it for having to change to a 5 stud hub flange which also changes the standard wheel that you can fit. The cordoba doesn't ride on 17 inch rims to well. Getting tyres to keep the same rolling radius is going to be difficult and expensive.
