Considering buying a 101 hp 1,9 TDi. Need help.

Hi!

I'm considering buying a 101 hp 1,9 TDi from Germany. I live in Norway. The 130 and 160 versions will be very expensive due to emissinons in Norway, so therefore the 101 is the only choice. Also considering the Polo with the same engine, but I think the Ibiza looks cooler. By the way, the car is white with low spec. Anyone got some pics of white Mk 4's? I think it will look cool with some gunmetal or black wheels.

What do you tink of this engine? Easy to tune? Any links to where I can get some nice parts to this car? I'm not into aftermarket styling, so a link to a site with oem parts would allso be nice.

All other tips will be appreciated!

It looks nice mate, a good drop and some gunmetal wheels will look very smart

A 1.9 TDI PD100 bhp engine will remap to 140-150 bhp!

Paint the side strips, rear valance and door handles white, the wing mirrors would look smart in gloss black!

Ohhh... I like the white Cupra. Only bumpers, or sideskirts aswell? Is there aftermarket exhausts for this car? Is the one one the pic the stock Cupra 160 exhaust?

Yeah, the PD100 remaps up to about 140 as Ad Lav said. I know as ive done it.

Ive painted the side strips red and the wing mirrors gloss black. Lowered it on coilovers and put wheels on it.

There are pictures in the Edition38 thread as my camera lead has gone walkies and i cant put a pic up here for you.

None at all.

Ive been really happy with it. Its going on the rollers soon so will be able to let you know actual figures.

my bro has the pd100...feels just as torquey as my revo'd pd130, he keeps with me til bout 45mph then you notice me pulling away.

i was mighty impressed though. especially as it only has 100bhp!

Its SSW Mesh wheels ive got on mine mate. Where did you see it?

They are torquey as Dave says. Its better with the remap now. Bit of a sleeper, no-one thinks its fast then woosh your away.

noticed above that u had pics from E38 so had a wee nosey. liking what you've done, the mirrors look spot on in gloss black! i've been thinkin about wheels soon n like the BBS RX, still need to find out if they'll fit over the calipers right enough, there pretty similar in style to yours (to my untrained eyes ) so at least i know they'll look alright if they do fit.

Should be alright if you get a slightly different offset, might avoid the need for spacers!

is there a minimum offset that i'll need or is it dependant on the wheel type, i think i read something about et35????

Yeah, I think just about anything with an et35 offset clears the ap calipers, have to be careful with rim width and tyre size tho, other wise get scrubbing issues! 7.5ins rims and 205/40/17's fit iirc!
