Has anyone fitted these? They always come out well especially on front wheel drive car tests
See Evo tyre test 2014.
i hear everyone will say "pilot sport..."

Advice welcome.

I had them on my last car, were pretty good - much better than the stock ones they replaced. Wet grip was very good. Not sure how they would stand up to the power of the cupra though.

Might be worth considering the Evo test was run on 17" wheels (225/45) and quite a bit less power/torque.

In my experience the ContiSportContact 5P is an awful tyre on a car with over 210bhp/ton as with the Cupra 280, depending on your driving style you could shred them in 4-5K miles - and forget track days you will have them to the canvass in a handful of laps. Many RS3 owners (CSC5P 235 or 255 fitted as standard) reported problems with either excessive tyre shoulder wear or the tread blocks falling out. Some lasted less than 5K miles before needing to be replaced.

Both the Goodyear Eagle F1 and, yes, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport were far more up to the job. The Michelin's work for me that's all I can really say.

I replaced the SC 5's with GY Efficient Grip Performance tyres and IMO the GY's are much better in every respect. I instantly noticed much less road noise and better MPG.

Looking forward to replacing the rear Conti's now as they sound awful! (They do wear pretty well though, 29K on the rears and still got 3mm on them)

EDIT: Noticed you have a Cupra - I'd go for Eagle F1's...

Just to add a bit of balance albeit from a RWD perspective, I prefer Conti Sport Contact 5's on my BMW 130i (~270bhp) over the Goodyear Assymetric 2's that I had on it before, in sizes 225/40-18" F and 235/40-18" R. the Conti is perhaps not quite as grippy but they're more predictable and better in the wet.

Thats a pretty old report (2011 i think it said), cos they put it against the PS2's which i think are old and replaced by the PSS(?).

I had fitted conisport contact 5 from the factory... quite noisy tires I would say
I had for winter Nokian Hakkapeliitta R which were much better from noise point of view

I've no experience of the SC 5, but my Clio had SC 3s on as the OEM tyre and I stuck with them as they had a bespoke load rating specific to the car. The car was well into its 4th set of fronts by the time I got rid of it at around 32,000 miles! My tyre fitter doesn't rate Continentals either. He said they use to be alright, but that they're poorly made and don't balance very well now.

I had them on my Mk 2 Focus RS after replacing the Conti Sport contact 3. Really good dry grip for about 2500 miles after that they started to go off.

I replaced them after about 5000 miles. Granted, they didn't have an easy life and the RS is heavy on the fronts but the tyre life was appalling.

Yes, the PSS are a better tyre in my opinion, on par dry grip, better tyre life, better wet weather grip and decent feel.

I'm not a Michelin fanboi either just my experience.

I've tried Conti sport contact 3, Sport contact 5P, P Zero Nero, P Zero Rosso, Goodyear Eagle F1 Ass 2, PSS also Cup 2 but they are great at going fast not much else.

Oponeo. Cost me 30 quid for fitting, so £300 all in. I've done a couple of hundred miles on them so far and they're leagues ahead of the Bridgestones already. Admittedly the weather has been dry and warm, so ideal for tyre testing, but the PSS have better traction when accelerating and more cornering grip. Even with the diff the Bridgestones would wash wide and understeer on roundabouts, but the Michelins just dig in and haul the car around before firing it out the other side. I never saw the TC light come on once yesterday during my drive.
