Coolant light flashing?

Sometimes when i start my Ibiza Cupra(2001) up the coolant tepm gauge flashes for a cople of seconds then it's stops and its ok. Also when its cold whilst driving my temp gauge will not go up to the middle like it has always done up till the last few weeks.
Can anyone help?

Check your coolant level. If it's ok then you need a new level probe. You have to buy the tank as a whole for the probe, it's not that expensive £20-30

I've checked the coolant level and it's fine so it looks like the probe then.

yeah I've got exactly the same problem, really annoying me now lol especially the extremely high pitch beep lol

clean the sensors in the tank. top up a bit if you can.
will probably be just when its cold outside.

This will not fix the problem , i had this problem last week it was the sensor in the coolant reservoir the dealer replaced the coolant reservoir and cleared the fault codes in the computer . No light flashing anymore !

cleaning the sensor probes and /or topping up the coolant may fix the problem, it may not.

A new tank/sensor will fix the problem, however this may just be until next year when it may happen again.

But you are correct, a dealer with replace the sensor/tank to solve this.
Im guessing they are just replacing them and not changing the design.

cleaning my sensor fixed it for me!

was all furred up....sratched it with a screw driver and over the last 8 months no problems AT ALL!!!

If it's caked then clean it, it's obviously going to lower the sensitivity of the probe if that is the case.
